"One of the more unusual innovations is a pair of slip-on space suits attached to the back of the pressurized cabin. Rather than taking up room with a full-size airlock, a "plainclothes" astronaut simply slides into an empty suit, pulls a lever to close the hatch and detach, and walks away. The process can then be done in reverse to re-enter the cabin."
What about the dust? Everything I've read about lunar mission states lunar dust is super powdery and could be a real bitch in a pressurized environment...
(I know, with all the PHDs over at NASA they certainly thought of that... I'm certainly interested in how they plan to control that)
Am I the ony one who actually likes that car? It's a clean and minimalistic without being bland, like the first-gen Prius was. I like it a lot, it's very contemporary. At worst I would call it unremarkable, but certainly not ugly.
Now the Fiat Multipla posted above, that's one ugly vehicle.:x
You said you have no problem with DRM on consoles but you don't like it on PC. Even though I completely fail to understand why, most people are like you and that's why it was a fiasco.
Well, I'm not exactly thrilled by the idea of DRM in general, however what I meant is that I build my PC to specs I decide, install what I want on it, and I don't want some corp to tell me what I can or cannot do with it.
However with a console the approach is different, it's a machine built specifically for one purpose (I'm simplifying here) and I understand from day one that only specific software will run on it. It's different in that it's understandable that they lock it to that purpose.
I don't know, it's a different sort of machine. I can (and do) use my PC for gaming, but it's a much more open platform. So the approach is different. Does that make sense?
One last thing, if you fear about the game being too easy, I can assure you it's not. If you disable Vita-Chambers and don't save every 2 minutes (I never saved except when changing levels), then the game on Hard is about the same difficulty as System Shock 2 on Hard. It is certainly very stressful.
I'm gonna get it. I hesitated a long time between getting a PS3 or a 360, and went for PS3 eventually because all I read about the 360 made it sound like a maintenance nightmare (RRoD, overheating, etc.)
One of the few factors going for the 360 was BioShock. I didn't want to get it for PC because of the DRM/Activation fiasco.
I know there's DRM on consoles too, but well, contrary to PC games, it's to be expected since a console is a proprietary system by definition. I have no problem with that.
I'm glad I went with the PS and now that BioShock is coming on that one as well, I don't even have to second-guess this choice. And apparently they improved the difficulty and stuff (although admittedly the extent of such improvements are still TBD). It's looking good, imho.
Indeed. This would mean official support and official drivers on a wide range of machines, even if they're only HP-branded ones.
Any support from major manufacturers can only lead to increased acceptance of alternative OSes in general. If they're working on one I think it's great.
With all the current debates and fears (justified or not) about the possible long-term effects of mobile phones, I wonder how they think installing this kind of generator in a house might work...
As a state, they do have their own Euro coins.
Before the Euro they had a Vatican lira. I don't know if the value was the same as the Italian one though.

What kind of control freak micromanages break activities?
You've obviously never met Terry Tate *shudders*
It's the first time I see the Godwit law apply right from the summary.
Oh wait...
My God, it's full of stairs!
Not sure I wanna use something called Dojo with the threat of Shodan still around... ;)
After all, it's "only a beta", eh?
"Come to MAMA!"

Good to know :)

Don't transistor me bro!
So they will give the expected yield of their batteries in kilotonnes now? Right?
My god, lawyers have figured out how to license days of the week! Quickly, how do I acquire the rights to 'Saturday'? I'll be rich!
And I could finally be "The Man who has Thursday"!
Plus I hear it can do the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs!
First, hold shift. Second, press 4.
I have a French keyboard, you insensitive clod!

Captain Hammer will save us.

In a related formal complain, The Templars also called the Church on its trolling and demanded compensation for all the flames.
If you think about it, Starbucks abandoning Java would make for interesting news as well...
Will it blend?
HA! As a GenuineSlashdot post, I should get even better than that!
The pilots were blindfolded. If they can't see you, you can't see them. Easy!
