12-18 sounds like a good age to have a PSP, but your range is not accurate anymore the gamer age is officially 12-25 (although I would say thats 12-30 since I know many 30 years old who are gamers) and in Japan gamers are even older.
I wouldnt worry at all about the PSP library. Sony owns or has exclusivity on Everquest, Socom, GT, GTA, a branch of FF, Tekken, etc. thats more than enough to start a nice library.

Not even him thinks the product will be impressive! considering other "novelties" nintendo has delivered before (e-card reader, virtual boy, 4 player pacman ) I dont think thats a good sign come on! even Nokia thought the N-gage would be really cool (yeah right). If thats what they think maybe they should just do themselves and us a favor and cancel it all together. The last thing Nintendo needs is another lackluster product with their tag on it.
Bring the next console with free online support, wireless controllers, a hdd, a superior graphics card and a DVD player/reader/writer tivo combo and then we will talk.

This project is not only "technologicallty feasible" it has been done before, did no one played tribes and tribes 2? I mean seriously, halo, battlefield 1942 and call of duty are based on concepts they invented. Yet everyone thinks they are revolutionary.
Actually in Halo you can only handle terrain vehicles, while in Tribes2 you are able to drive flying ships and have passengers, pilots and bombers on them. Also you were able to switch armors AND have a trird person view.
Heck , ANYONE with enough coding knowledge,a budget and some talent can give a try to code a game like this, they sell their engine for $100 at GarageGames.com
Every time infinium labs (which is not a real trademark by the way) shows something about the phantom everybody just nods their collective heads and says "ah! so its real!" so far not only they havent even announced when the console will be released, Everything that they have released about this product does not prove that they are developing the units at all. Im not saying they are vapor hardware for a fact but they havent released anything that proves otherwise

As far as I can see, they are selling an idea of some thing that could be done (and that actually has been done by other companies in the CES) in the hopes of attracting investors, but other than that is just marketting talk.

MS is probably trying to save their best card to counterstrike the PSP launch. After all, they can afford it. Anyway they are pretty much covered with triple A titles for the rest of the year (or at least the most important dates).
Sigh... I like nintendo games, but I dont like their consoles thats all, yes I think wind waker is a great game, but if I need to buy a console which is sub standard (no DVD play back, no Hard drive and very little space in discs) and has 1 good title each 6 months I prefer not to play it. period.

The PSX was released before the N64 and beat it, then the PS2 was released before the Xbox and the cube, and beat them both! the dreamcast was not a next gen console. It was released to compete against the PSX and N64. but was blown from the water by the PS2. Dreamcast 2 never showed up. (unless you count the XBOX which was made by MS who was involved in the creation of the Dreamcast)
Maybe sony's strategy to release first actually helps the console position after all.

Sorry but nintendo has already stated that they intend to battle sony's psp (which will cost around $200-$300) with their GBA sp prices ($90). Besides they have already mentioned the device they will reveal at the E3 wont be a handheld or a console. Their next Console wont be released until 2005

I think (Im not sure) in the late 50's a racist book called "the vigilante" explained on detail how and why it was needed "to take actions" against ethnic groups, it had all from directions of ethnic groups to kidnap and assasination techniques (I wish I was kidding) unfortunately at least one assasination did took place, so the author ended up in court his book got banned and eventually he was found guilty (of crime conspiracy I think) and even ended up in jail.
Since then is forbidden to explain (teach) techniques that could be used for crime in entertainment. They even made a movie about this case (which is where I learn from it). Thats the same reason why sites with anti-ethnic material or (real) crime related material (bomb fabrication, guns, drugs) are not allowed in the internet and are "underground".
My point is that games are not as "uncensored" as the media makes us think. Theres a lot of censoring and common sense applied to any game that goes mainstream, actually if a movie like the "godfather" didnt existed, probably GTA wouldnt have existed either.

I can feel sympathetic for any programmer who lose his hard worked code some way, but this whole deal seems too convenient. For starters I cant believe a hacker could enter valve workstations and got hold of: drumrolls please: the code for the game! instead of the latest beta. I mean what the ? they had better security for ART and levels than the code? thats just fishy.
2nd as far as I understand the code as it is, is mostly useless not only it cant run without the art and scripts (which are not there), most of the "leaked" code comes from quakegl (which is gpl) havok (gpl as well) and the halflife sdk which is free and is pretty similat to the quake2 source (ehich is GPL), the only part thats worth a look is the dx9 rendering engine (which as far as I know is not completely functional yet) and the network engine (which is not functional either) some people thought the steam code was there too, but it turns out IS NOT!
And now they announce the delay, great! what for? the leaked code is suposed to be one month old (although considering all the TODO tags it was a lot older), the game was due in december that means they had 3 months to work on it, more than enough time to fill the security gap (I mean ANY code that they change in the net code, will make the Leaked and new version games NOT sync!) any change they could make in the BSP or model structure will render the leaked code unusable! now they say they are releasing it in february? how convenient!
Here is the real reason why this may be happening: Halo 2 ATA February 2004, Doom3 ATA March 2004, Half life 2 ATA April 2004, what do you know! they will be released just a few months away from each other! and THEIR xbox/ PC versions!. Max payne 2 is being released this month (we hope) and just 2 months later the XBOX version will be out, could it be PC publishers are holding up their release dates to match the XBOX versions release? if not it certainly seems convenient all of them (except MP2 apparently) will be released AFTER Halo 2! is MS bags of cash behind this delays?

Nintendo is doing very well now, the gamecube is the one that is not going so good, developers are beginning to abandon it and they are not even building them anymore, of course the sales have quadrupled, they are practically giving them away. The PSP is about to be released next year, Nintendo is a big company but not as big as sony or MS if the PSP beats their GBA and its succesor they ARE going to be in trouble and they know it. if they actually end up losing the console war, there future may be pretty bleak.
The headline of the future probably is:
Sony continues leading the way, PSP sales through the rough XBOX2 gets delayed MS announces the XBP, the Gamesphere bundled with Mario 2004 and the GBA ultra drops price to $50 sales quadrupled.
Or maybe the next GBA will be really something and nintendo will end up beating all. Hey! who knows? is the future after all.

This campaign ad is not for upcoming gamecube games, actually there are no plans for big gamecube games next year (other than twin snakes which was delayed and metroid 2 which we know nothing about except they will use the same engine), the gamecube has dropped its price to 1/2 its real price and ITS NOT being produced anymore, I would check on those "details" before shelling $100 bucks for it.
If nintendo sales have quadrupled with the price drop and it still is number 3 (or 2) on sales.. doesnt that mean that their sales were incredibly low before the drop? I mean the console has been around for almost 2 years! and those are not even new consoles, those are the ones that werent sold! (they dont make gamecubes anymore!)

My point is that games are not as "uncensored" as the media makes us think. Theres a lot of censoring and common sense applied to any game that goes mainstream, actually if a movie like the "godfather" didnt existed, probably GTA wouldnt have existed either.
Let me check... mm, yes videogames are still the Media favorite scapegoat, and the lawyers still love to sue multimillion dollar videogame franchises because their clientes claim they "warped their little fragile minds" (have you ever wonder why they never sued "counter strike" when it was just a mod? it was just as violent as it is now).

I can feel sympathetic for any programmer who lose his hard worked code some way, but this whole deal seems too convenient.
For starters I cant believe a hacker could enter valve workstations and got hold of: drumrolls please: the code for the game! instead of the latest beta. I mean what the ? they had better security for ART and levels than the code? thats just fishy.
2nd as far as I understand the code as it is, is mostly useless not only it cant run without the art and scripts (which are not there), most of the "leaked" code comes from quakegl (which is gpl) havok (gpl as well) and the halflife sdk which is free and is pretty similat to the quake2 source (ehich is GPL), the only part thats worth a look is the dx9 rendering engine (which as far as I know is not completely functional yet) and the network engine (which is not functional either) some people thought the steam code was there too, but it turns out IS NOT!
And now they announce the delay, great! what for? the leaked code is suposed to be one month old (although considering all the TODO tags it was a lot older), the game was due in december that means they had 3 months to work on it, more than enough time to fill the security gap (I mean ANY code that they change in the net code, will make the Leaked and new version games NOT sync!) any change they could make in the BSP or model structure will render the leaked code unusable! now they say they are releasing it in february? how convenient!
Here is the real reason why this may be happening: Halo 2 ATA February 2004, Doom3 ATA March 2004, Half life 2 ATA April 2004, what do you know! they will be released just a few months away from each other! and THEIR xbox/ PC versions!. Max payne 2 is being released this month (we hope) and just 2 months later the XBOX version will be out, could it be PC publishers are holding up their release dates to match the XBOX versions release? if not it certainly seems convenient all of them (except MP2 apparently) will be released AFTER Halo 2! is MS bags of cash behind this delays?

Does anyone else agree that this game should have been based in the time period and gameplay that Kotor has? instead of this old trilogy wannabe? there are no ships and no jedis, is this really star wars ? I bet they are working on some kind of jedi system (and some vehicles I hope) this game has no chance of surviving long without them.

Nintendo is doing very well now, the gamecube is the one that is not going so good, developers are beginning to abandon it and they are not even building them anymore, of course the sales have quadrupled, they are practically giving them away.
The PSP is about to be released next year, Nintendo is a big company but not as big as sony or MS if the PSP beats their GBA and its succesor they ARE going to be in trouble and they know it.
if they actually end up losing the console war, there future may be pretty bleak.
The headline of the future probably is:
Sony continues leading the way, PSP sales through the rough XBOX2 gets delayed MS announces the XBP, the Gamesphere bundled with Mario 2004 and the GBA ultra drops price to $50 sales quadrupled.
Or maybe the next GBA will be really something and nintendo will end up beating all. Hey! who knows? is the future after all.
Has anyone noticed they are just advertising the COMPANY not the gamecube?
This campaign ad is not for upcoming gamecube games, actually there are no plans for big gamecube games next year (other than twin snakes which was delayed and metroid 2 which we know nothing about except they will use the same engine), the gamecube has dropped its price to 1/2 its real price and ITS NOT being produced anymore, I would check on those "details" before shelling $100 bucks for it.
If nintendo sales have quadrupled with the price drop and it still is number 3 (or 2) on sales.. doesnt that mean that their sales were incredibly low before the drop? I mean the console has been around for almost 2 years! and those are not even new consoles, those are the ones that werent sold! (they dont make gamecubes anymore!)
Maybe nintendo wants their fans on their side again because they are about to release their new handheld next year? maybe they are doing it because the gamecube is not doing so well? and PSP is around the corner (which means big trouble for their GBA?)
