Actually I have been wondering the same. 360 and revolution means the same. (although according colony.org the real name of xbox is "xbox NEXT" or maybe thats a code?)

BTW In the ARG colony theres an image of a videogame store and the sign of the xbox is right on top of playstation (no guessing on the meaning there!) what is curious is that Nintendo is in the next window almost at the same level than the XBOX sign, just sitting there. It is weird. Does it mean MS doesnt see Nintendo as a competitor Or does it means something else...?

Anyone found weird that the xbox2 amd the "revolution" share some specs? (ati radeon card, wifi etc?)

Analysts have been speculating about MS and Nintendo joining forces (or working in a joint project) for years Is that what they meant with "revolution"? (maybe Revolution is LIVE compatible?)

Aparently Nintendo is keeping the details on its next console tightly sealed, however considering what happened to the DS (the big and never before "device" is a handheld with 2 screens) I wouldnt worry about what makes revolution "revolutionary" nintendo doesnt like expending too much money on consoles so dont expect nothing really impressive theres no point in speculation.

They are extremely anime like (is from the makers of samurai jack after all) so it makes for a good combination.

I mean whats the next "headline"? "Nboy23 mentions in his blog the psp suxors hard! news at 11!"?

For those unaware a good part of Nintendo fans are either consciently or subconsciently giving the PSP as much heat as possible because they believe it could hurt their beloved Nintendo if it becomes a best seller (which is not now due to its price) THIS IS NOT TRUE. The PSP is getting good sales (sort of) and the DS is still getting good sales (sort of) as many analists had foreseen they are both SHARING the market, because they are meant for very different targets.
p.e. People who want "innovation" over graphics are getting a DS (and Nintendo fans) people who care less for innovation than graphics and features (and have the extra cash) are getting a PSP. They are NOT predating each other, as many people think!

Anyway EVEN if the PSP beat the DS and the GBA by a landslide (which is not happening) Nintendo is not troubled at all for that, they are already working on a new console and a NEW handheld a bit more similar (but less expensive) that the psp (THEN we will have a handheld war NOT NOW).

So could we drop the crusade now please? all this useless bad press is giving me a headache. for console flash toons of diverse qualities go to newgrounds.com thank you.

Their game didnt sold so well, not because they werent innovative (probably thats the only reason of their few sales anyway) it just wasnt very good, the Platform part wasnt really that original, easy or fun to play (it felt and played as a ps1 game) and as soon as you started to feel comfortable with the FPS (which was the one that worked) you were forced back to the platform again. (think "Starfox adventures" with a lion like clint eastwood instead of a fox and an fps instead of space ships and you have the picture)

Also it was a bit too "kiddie" (with a bunch of disney like animal characters) which is not bad for a family game, but then it had enough gore and violence to get an M rating, not enough to appeal the MK type gamer though. So is rather difficult to find an audience for it. Hence the lack of sales.

"Innovative" games do have a place in the market, check out "luminees" for the PSP, "Phantom dust" in the xbox (hey at least is not a FPS sequel or a cut and paste RPG) or "Katamari Damacy" for the PS2 they did great (specially in Japan) showed off the "big boys" a trick or two about gaming. So dont cry me a river about innovative games not "making it" its simply more difficult for them (just like independent movies versus blockbusters)

Besides we probably have to talk numbers first, I mean Halo 2 and GTA SA made it to the top, but how much money and time was expent in their making? whats their profit? now ask yourself how much money was expent in making Alien Hominid or Katamari Damacy? how much money are they making in profit?

Its impossible for a small independent company to release a game in any other platform and its more technologically advanced that any console in the market (and will always be since is upgradeable) MS mentioned in their keynote the PC will always a great lab for gaming and gameplay (and for once they are right).

Its expensive for developers to release boxed games for Pc's thats true. But is not as much if they get rid of the box and provide it as downloadable content. Im not sure how efficient that method is. But it certainly is the less expensive choice for any developer (no royalties to pay, no publishing, no international/national orders shipping and handling, nothing! all they need is a pc port of their game , a cc handler and a download source, thats it) another cool detail is that since pc gaming is less populated it could actually be considered a "niche" of sorts.

The only actual problem with pc gaming I see now, is how video card manufacturers are basically self destroying a part of the market, most probably they are aware than their newer card prices are unreachable for almost any pc enthusiast. Yet, they try to set them as the industry "standard" news flash: you can only call it an standard if the majority of the population prefers it over alternatives. Theres a shortage of psps rigth now (they are sold out),So its not possible for any store to replace your psp until a new batch is produced (which may take months). What sony will do is to replace your lcd screen (seems logical since that what is causing the problem) but it will take time to do that. So you have to balance "is the problem bothering me enough to send this thing to warranty and then wait for the LCD replacement?" if it is then send it over. But dont expect the replacement to be back the very same day or to get a new unit, you wont.

IMO if you wait for a while and do your move before the warranty is void (6 months) but the shortage is over (after e3 I suppose) you probably will be able to change it for a brand new one from the very same store you bought it from.

Now before you ask (or whine) "NINTENDO DID CHANGE THEM!" yes, thats because there is NO shortage of DS they are not sold out, in fact the sales have definetily not been as good as Nintendo expected So there are plenty of DS's to go around worldwide. I know thats not what Nintendo fans wanted to hear, but its the truth. If you go to any store in the world where the handhelds are being sold, you have a very good chance of finding a DS but no PSP and if you find one it will probably be more expensive than expected.

Good? bad ? Im the guy with the GBA, so dont ask.

p.s. IMO I would wait until the "new handheld" craze is over and then acquire one. if you get a dead pixel you can replace the unit in the spot right in the store.

Extra p.s. Or if you are smart enough, you could simply demand a "test drive" before buying and check if the unit you are about to buy has dead pixels (duh!). if they cant open your box to check, then ask for the one that is in display.
