I have a science question no one has ever answered. If the universe was created by the big bang, where did all that matter and energy originally come from? It seems to be the same question as, "Where did did the inteligent designer come from?"
This is offtopic, but I've always wondered if vontage could stick a gps chip (like those in cell phones) into thier boxes. When 911 is called, they could then use the information from the gps chip to route it to the proper 911 operator and give that operator address information.
Much of it delt with memory considerations. One person had a few hundred processes on his system, and since they each need a copy of data that's that same, that was a lot of extra overhead.
Often when using published protocols there is a high learning curve and there is extra configuration required to allow for all the features of the protocol. If you are doing something simple it's often easier to just do it youself (although you may have more bugs).
In the interview he mentions that Apple is paying 70 of the 99 cents back to the music industry. Apple has to run iTunes and pay all the transaction costs out of the 20 cents they have left.
99-70=29
And 29 cents per download is a lot of money, it may not cover all the fix costs, but I'm sure it more then covers the variable cost of bandwidth and server time. Therefore if apple sells enough content via iTunes it'll turn a profit on just the content.
Actually, if you've seen some of the stuff MathWorks has, creating complex math simulations can be as simple as dragging and dropping equations/operations and connecting them.
Blizzard could, and I hope they do, re-write warden to detect the rootkit, and then if it's installed let the user know that sony installed a virus on their machine and that it needs to be removed to play WoW.
I occationally travel to customer sites for my job. So far I've spent about 5 weeks in California (4 weeks near San Jose, and 1 near LA), and I have to pay some taxes to my home state of MN and some to CA since I worked there for such a long time.
So I'm assuming that a consultant or music act will have to pay taxes to any state in which they generate income.
I can't stand to "buy" video in a locked down format, but I'd happily "rent" an episode of something like Lost for 0.50 for 1 week even if it was DRMed up the...
I hate to use a tech buzzword, but wiki's (with offline copies) can be exactly what's needed. Building tables and documents directly in the wiki interface will make sure that everyone always has the latest copy.
A follow up question would be: how could developers, if they so chose, account for this to minimize any negative impact?
Developers should start writing code that checks names to verify that they match the rules on creation. If the code lets it through, then it's likely okay. Maybe even make it a scale from Acceptable to Check with a GM to Rejeted.

Wait, now killing puppies is being associated with those evil prirates? Insult those thieves all you want, but leave me and my puppy killing alone.

The biggest reason I've seen people switch is because the multi-process model doesn't scale as well as the mutli-threaded model.
UserFriendly tried an animated series a while ago. It looks like it only lasted one episode though.

Discover also offers this service. I'm not sure about Mastercard, Visa, and others.

It's that there are so many sports games.
That leaves 2 or 3 games that I'd consider buying.
I'm pretty sure Sun is aiming this at the J2EE space.
Yeah, I really wish they'd remove all the new eye-candy...I upgraded and am not sure how to downgrade again.
under estimating your abilities leads to stress and more work.
Yeah, but Sony Online Entertainment is a competetor of Blizzard, it would be a PR issue.

Got head while laughing at a chick...I don't know if I should look up to you for being the ultimate man or look down upon you for degrading women.

These days it seems that X.0 adds features, while X.1 adds performance and stability.
So I'll wait until OO.o 2.1.

Taxation without representation already exists in the USA. Just look at Washington DC. Heck, even their license plates say that.
How about a discount for those that drive 5 miles instead of 25 miles? Fewer miles means more overall savings then a higher MPG.
