Nope, they will try and do better then photorealism. First real-realism (photorealizm is ~11-16mega pixals IIRC), then larger monitors, 360 degree views, heat, scents, tactile feedback, etc...
I think the problem relates to us passing people that don't deserve it. Teachers and professors need to make sure students understand the basics before they are allowed to pass the class. I'm sick of them allowing people to pass based on effort alone, since effort doesn't mean you're prepared for subsequent classes.
I tried to do that for a few months, but I ran out of content that I wanted to watch. Now I just use NetFlix and...well...pay less to run out of content that I want to watch...But at least I could see Seasons 1-7 of SG-1 in order.
Sweet, that means that if I consider the cost of a movie I own for 5 years, it's only a $2 per year cost...or $0.17/month or $0.01/day. I should buy every movie ever.
When the PS2 first came out how many DVD players were there? I remember reading something that said the PS2 was partially responsible for DVDs being popular. All of a sudden people that had no desire for something better then VHS had a DVD playing in their living room.
I'm not a fan of windows, but come on have you even used windows XP in a corperate environment? My desktop only gets rebooted when I need to patch the thing (about twice a month).
Often we try and get diagnotic information from customers so that we can solve the problems without having to go to the customer site, but the customer is too busy with other things to provide us the information (often it takes ~5-10 minutes of work).
Often the customer's employees are getting yelled at by their managers and are working 12-16 hour days by the time a problem comes to me, so I can understand that they don't have enough time to run diagnostics.
If I want to buy the latest iPod album I can only buy it from one manufacturer: Apple. Sure I can go to different stores to try and hunt down a lower prices but Apple set the price. The consumer only has one choice: buy it, or don't buy it. In a real free market economy the consumer has a third, more powerful option, to find a cheaper supplier.
This is Microsoft. They will have a GUI config tool to modify this file and in 90% of the cases that will be enough. A few geeks and large corps will use custom programs to modify the file and a few people (+ those doing PD) will modify it by hand.

That's a good point, but consider that with the things you describe above (psu, mem, mobo), the problem can be solved by replacing the part.
I think the point is that Google doesn't want you replacing parts yourself. If you can deal with sending the device back to Google for servicing, then you can deal with reindexing.
Marvel wants to make these movies for two reasons. #1) They want to profit from a movie based on their characters. #2) They want people to see their characters and hopefully buy more comic books.
If you only look at #1, this might not be the best idea, but once #2 comes into play these movies also become advertising for their comic books.
Except the physics will be inconsistent since they spent all their time on the senses.

What's wrong with letting only a few people pass?
My favorite professor had a great reputation..."You'll learn and then you'll fail."

I know the perfect first application. A Web Browser.
Revenue is revenue. Why is ad revenue looked at poorly while selling services is not? Unless of course you're google, then ad revenue is okay.
Insanity later...

What if it's the only way to get the product?

You assume that there is only one problem.
Disclaimer: I work in support for a large corp.

What happens when the ground control gets taken over by terrorists? Or when they figure out how to override the system from a third place?
I pay $13 a month and get unlimited no frills calling. It's all I need at home. Vontage would be nice, but I can't get a local number with them.

All they need to do is replace the Red Skull with Osama Bin Laden and Marvel will have a hit on their hands.

The question is would IBM and other major companies be willing to use this new version of the GPL?
What would IBM, Sun, and MySQL gain? What would they lose?
