The only place on talk.google.com that I found anything refering to Jabber is on the client choice page. *The company that makes Trillian offers a free version of its client, but in order to connect to Google Talk or any other service that supports the Jabber/XMPP protocol, you'll need to purchase Trillian Pro.
So I suppose the question is, is interoperability with other Jabber servers part of the Jabber/XMPP protocol?
In major Indian cities most signs are in many laguages. In bombay Hindi was on top, followed by something else, then English, and then a dozen or so other Indian languages. This culture is used to seeing and speeking English, which is one reason that they have been used so much for outsourcing.
They sold the PC division because it wasn't making a profit. Right now the remaining major divisions (software, services, and servers) are making a profit, so I think they'll hold on to them. If things change down the road and they start losing money in the server business, then I can see them getting completely out of hardware, but until then, I really think they'll hold onto those big iron machines.
But you need to keep the name out there. If they stop mentioning Diet coke, then a subset of people will no longer consider it. I forone forget things rather often, and while I hate ads there have been times that I've checked out a product or service that I heard about as an ad.
If the kids don't know anything about programming, and are interested in math, Scheme (or Lisp) might be the best language to teach them. The can learn some really interesting concepts.
But, that's probably too academic, in which case I recommend Jython. It'll be really useful as a scripting language, and will allow you to have a follow up course on Java in which you slowly replace a large Jython program with Java code and then extend it even farther.
I'd rather pay $10 a month for a game w/ ads (that fit into the game) then #15 a month for a game w/o ads. Like a previous poster said, if they can make games cheaper by adding advertisements (that fit into the game) then more power to them.
The point is that "modern" computers won't need any PS2 ports. It's what makes things like the mac mini so easy to setup.
Also, for many people having 2 ports that are physically the exact same but have different functions makes setup difficult. With USB you don't have that problem.
I don't think you've ever run enterprise level middleware or an oracle DB. I don't think anything less then a p3/athlon could run either of those at decent speed.
"Vista is mostly for servers and corperate boxes, not the consumer."
Read any one of the articles on Vista, and they will all say that Vista is for end users and something that's still code-named Longhorn Server is for servers.
That just gave me an idea. I personally would be completely fine with public schools bring forced to give equal time to Intelligent Design IFF churches gave equal time to evolution. It seems like a fair trade to me.
And before you yell at me about churchs not being government funded, I'm sure they got a lot more money due to tax breaks people get for donating.
See, that's what I loved about the playstation. They published anything and everything, so you could find games that fit you, not games that fit the "average person".
Do yourself a favor and don't try and mix your personal life with your business. Keep seperate numbers for both, that way you don't get woken up at 3am by a customer who's computer just died.
As a windows programmer turned unix programmer turned unix operations support who just recently started working with mainframe operations, I would like to say your post seems to be right on. In addition in the mainframe world CPU utilization is everything. If your CPU is not above 90% utilization, then something is wrong. This is different then the Unix world where capacity planning is done so that expected peak CPU utilization is anywhere from 40-80%.
We all know Rockstar bought off politicians to create this buzz. The worse rep it has, the more people want to protect it and want to buy their products.
And then allow starcraft characters to go into warcraft. "My zealot will kill your orc."

Why would IBM want x86? They no longer make PCs and they want to be able to get both Intel and AMD processors for their non-power based servers.
300 Watts = 3 100 Watt light bulbs = 5 60 Watt light bulbs.
I saved more enegery going to more efficient light bulbs then I did going to a less power hungry pc.
You forgot to include the Cryptography ("C"), but otherwise, it's pretty simple.

hmm...I think I'd rather have a $30 DVD play that breaks in 3 months, instead of my $80 one that broke after 6 months.
Umm, usually bookstores are part of the school. So they can lose money if they provide a needed service which makes the school profitable.
And what happens to those with bad broadband providers? I'd be pissed if I couldn't watch a movie just because my internet is down.
Mine said Spawn of Satan...

It would also make it easier for kidnappers to find their targets, since all they have to do is follow the RFID tag.

I don't think IBM would try and include SWT instead of Swing, but they might try and include SWT in addition to Swing.
Please give some examples. Many of the people here could learn from what you learned.
