Congrats to China. But think what we would have if we had an international space program. This would (hopefully) overcome competion of science, there all trying to advance science, China is entering the game now. I know it doesn't seem like there is much competition in the space world, but in unmanned missions, we are all in competition. Projects the the International space station are dominated by the U.S. First step is for the U.S. to stop pissing off other countries.

No arguements there, anyone who cares more about his own personal good then finding ways to get more bandwidth deserves not to be able to turn on the computer!

The MPAA and RIAA do mind. They talk about it on the P2P hearings I watched on CSPAN. I guess they would rather see progress of human kind, like what they did here, to see their own sales.

Belive me, mo system is that good at verifying age on porn sites. And it is not like people are going to be giving out their SS number to get in when there is services like P2P.

This is a crazy abuse of current patent laws.
There should be some way to put a patent cap for certain compaines that get to many patents, mostly in the computer world. Microsoft encourges the pantent of two many things to their own name that people shouldn't have the the right to patent. What is next? Patenting the thought paternts of good code ideas?

Hopefully a security protocol could be used to make wireless phone communication more secure. Some kind of tweaked up VPN could be used or something.

this will only bring lawsuits to telemarketers from cell phone companies after massive out cry of complaints from customers. Although a few evil compaies could be selling numbers.
If not from the cell phone companies, class action ones from customers.

Do people just sit around and go, "Bob, I feel like taking away peoples rights today."
But the real bad guy is companies like microsoft that act on the laws.

Where is the art in movies any more? Taken away by the profit seeking MPAA. This shows how the MPAA is not concerned how good the movie is and how well people will think about it, they just want to herd people in like cattle! The recent story about how they are ruining thier own films just to reduce piracy is just another example about how this evil orginization cares not about the movie but the profits. It doesn't matter what the viewers think, just as long as they still pay to see the movie. This is taking away everything movies used to be about, sure they have always been about the profits to some extent, but you don't see directors on talk shows talking about the fortune they will make, they are talking about the quality of the movie and the fun they had making it. It is time to stop the MPAA!

Yes, I may be thinking unrealistically, but I have hope for a better world, and without hope of that, what do we have except the bleak reality of the world. Excepting the world as it is only leads to the same problems, trying to think on how to improve the world only leads to a better one.
