The United States now has a certified and *operational* civilian space port.
Ain't that the craziest thing to say? I have every intention of working as a space pilot out of there once I finish school. Man.. a space port..
What's next, after the X prize? Where will our bounds be? I think this is the beginning, the beginning of our spread into the solar system and eventually into instellar space. My goal for my life is to fly in space as a career, and thanks to these people, that was just made a lot more likely. We indeed live in interesting times.
While your post had a point, the spying part is not the part that really scares me. What scares me is that when you recieve one of these letters, you aren't allowed to talk about it. Gag orders are scary things, and the one on the ACLU does not seem to have a point, because when was the last time the ACLU was a target of a terrorism investigation? I think it is as the article said, the less that gets out about certain parts of the Patriot Act, the happier Bush and Ashcroft are.
Carry a backpack, a nice cheap one. It achieves part of the poor, broke student look perfectly. Students aren't usually the people getting mugged. Its the people with expensive leather electronics bags and clothes made especially for electronics. And above all, don't look like you expect someone to steal something, because that means you obviously have something of value. The whole thing is to not be a target, and look like you have nothing good.
Go to forums.somethingawful.com You'll find that the PowerBook had a 10 day return policy, and he tried to return it after 19 days. There is also a link to the ebay actuion.

I was in it. A Elementalist/Ranger by the name of EagleR Jansen. I enjoyed it. The missions and PvP were good, and the solo area was a nice touch. The end of the event party in Town district 28 was great fun.
Still, where did the first cell come from? My biology teacher at a public high school asked our class this. She did not expect an answer, and was just trying to see how our class would react. Apperently we acted as a mirror of world-wide controversy.

Exactly. Length is a virtual non-issue. As you say, its all about moving the reader or user. The best point that is made in the artcle (I think) is that if it have the power to move you, and create strong memories, it is art. I mean, the first time I played XCOM, I nearly lept out of my chair when my first alien shot one of my squaddies as he turned a corner. I remember that.

So Edgar Allen Poe's short stories don't qualify as art because they involve less writing than some RPGs?
DO you have any idea how much people will pay just to go really high up and come back down? Or what about suborbital continental hops?
Or perhaps one could consider setting up a paypal account for them.
And that's why I'm glad I'm only starting high school. Space Industry, here I come!

I believe that the Da Vinci X Prize team may be trying something like this, but correct me if I'm wrong.
I realize that. But look ahead, after that. Long term. I see a wonderful future. What do you see?

Wait.. Archer, as in Johnathan Archer? Maybe this is what made is his father want to build an engine.
Ahem... Looks like they were trying to host the site and a couple of videos on a Mini. Burn mini, burn. There goes my karma.

Good idea! Lets get rid of that entire useless third of society!

Exactly right. These are not Tricorders, but PADDs.
You've been with Eccenletra Galumbits? (I totally mangled that.)
No no no, you've got it all wrong. It was the dolphins that left!
But the detective DID have a warrent for the information. It was just that he didn't know the right questions.
Probably offtopic, but according to a recent article in Time magazine, Linux is predicted to have 21% of Microsoft's market share by 2008.
Oh yeah, and that's not product lock in. *end sarcasm*

I can imagine one. It's named Deep Thought.
