The changing of the location of the buttons isn't really as complicated a matter as that. You can move the buttons manually in a tool like Ubuntu Tweak. Or if that is too difficult you can change the window border of the theme to something else entirely.
As a Pole I can say that our two countries had a difficult history. Some of it good some of it bad. Russians killed many Poles, many Russians were killed by Poles. But on the whole I would say that both our peoples are very close (if not for the stereotypes). And that's the point of MW2. It's very antiwar in my opinion. Of course it makes war out to be cool and fun, with gadgets, new weapons, special effects high speed chases. If you stop for a moment and look past the graphics and the action you see the dead bodies lying in the streets, the burns, the wounds, the property damage. In MW2 everyone is guilty, every nation portrayed has done something questionable in the name of a "grander" cause. But also members of those nations have done some good things. The game shows us that behind monolithic nations stand people, people that make decisions, take actions. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. There's no clear cut difference that Russians are bad and Americans are good or vice versa. MW2's main antagonist is American after all (at least in my opinion).
I have to agree that the US Ranger parts are overly positive and idealistic in nature.
the snowmobiles/speedboats tipped you off?:-)
for me it was the f15s zipping by two helicopters at arms length or in the same level being airlifted from a 2x2 hole in the roof with metal rods waiting to split you in half... cod never's been a realistic game. if you want (semi)realism play operation flashpoint or something. cod is an action movie and it's great if played like that... way worse than the first modern warfare though. playing it I get the feeling that I've done this all before, ohh so many times. nothing to see here move along.
i'm guessing they are aiming at something like mobileme rather than dropbox.
i have 3 ubuntu desktops right now and it would be truly fantastic if i had a way to automatically sync my settings and or home folders across all three...
i don't know how many people know about this but if you've bought the game once directly from their website you have access to versions of the game for diffrent platforms. just revisit the download link you got in your mail after your original purchase.
the summary fails to mention it but the biggest downside is that when activision or inifinty ward goes under or chooses to shutdown the servers the game will be useless.
I think that Linux is more than ready for the desktop but as you say people don't know that it exists.
Over the weekend I reformatted my semi-corporate laptop (lenovo thinkpad r61) from Vista Business to Ubuntu 9.04. And I've been totally surprised how well the whole process went. All of the hardware worked OOTB. Today I've been even more surprised when I brought the machine to work. I connected the network cable. Fired up Evolution and connected to the Exchange server. When I wanted to print something Ubuntu had found all of the available printers on the network and let me choose which one I wanted to use. Everything has been flawless the whole way.
Not to mention that it's blazing fast compared to Vista. I can even run a Windows XP environment in Virutalbox without any significant slowdown (4GB RAM) so if I need to sync my iphone apps on it I can do that too.
But people don't know that the possibility exists, or even if they know the headaches caused by Windows aren't big enough to warrant a change, or a couple other excuses to just stay with what they know.
There have been some reports of people having issues with missing sound when using HDMI.
I have the same problem and would like to give a heads up to anyone who is going to upgrade or had the same bug appear. To my knowledge there's no sure fire way of solving the issue. A workaround is possible by using a different sound output.
It's really nothing new. My masters degree supervisor warned my that I can't use a source that isn't signed by someone. As I heard it's a univ wide rule. So in a way wikipedia is banned here.
Anyway citing a source is good writing practice. I'm kind of surprised that you have to ban Wikipedia.
Another great movie based around the very same idea is Seksmisja. Some of the jokes may be lost in translation but nonetheless it's really worth seeing.
I've bought HL2 through Steam, I read the EULA, I know the risks involved. I think that for paying $50 I have a contract with Valve that they supply me with their games for an indefinite amount of time, however they can revoke that contract at anytime also. You might argue if that's wrong or right, but basicly I'm happy with the arrangment, I made it consciously. If one day they'll screw me over I won't buy another game from them.
It's not like I've been looking for such mods. I am a gamer and I read game related websites. The ammount of hype bf1942 mods received during the game's prime frightened me so I decided not to buy the game even when it was priced at about $10.
In general I am pro-choice, competition is good and so on, but sometimes when you want something to just work making a choice can be difficult.
http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/1956/whats-the-purpose-of-bags-of-water-hanging-in-restaurants/ The water bag acts as a lens that enhances movement. The flies react to the movement - they stay away.

it makes sense to me

i have 50 invites still left (since 2 months or so)
does any one have a link?
the general idea is that businesses exist to maximize their market value, making money isn't the same.
you seem to forget that rockstar's contract with sony ends soon, the next gta game can be an xbox exclusive. and that game sells.
