You know, I think that they will be neat and all, but people in this town have a hard enough time driving in 2D. Add a vertical component and I'll NEVER make it to work on time.
Being an ex-predator techie, I can say that it didn't have that capability, but it has been a few years. It does use radio waves for maging if needed due to weather, darkness, or cases where optics are ineffective. This would require a fairly sensitive radio antenna and could conceivably have it's frequency shifted to pick up that sort of thing, but, I was an AF equivalent of an A&P mechanic, so I don't know much about the avionics side of the house. But, since this is slashdot....
The imaging systems run on UNIX. SunOS if I remember correctly.
Though I agree that this is rather subjective, I would say that There is a difference between raw player population and apparent population.
In many MMORPGS, there may be 20-30-100,000 players online at any given time, but many of these players cannot "meet" in the game because they are on a different "shard" or something. Dont know all the fancy-talk, But East Coast folks and West Coast Folks and UK folks generall play on the closest server or the one with the best ping, or whatnot. In Eve, on the other hand, there are 100,000+ subscribers with, during peak hours, 22,000+ all online on the same server interacting and adding to the economy. Cooperating, etc. From ALL over the world.
There is also the fact that some people kinda tire of the sword-armor-dragon RPGs and are really looking for something different.
Statement of bias: I have only played 2 MMORPGs. Ultima Online, and Eve. My brother loves WoW, but after watching him play it for awhile, I can't imagine why. My Ultima Membership lasted about 2 Months (bored to tears). My Eve Membership is at 4 Months, and I see no end in sight.
Naah. who cares about market leaders? That is the sort of mentality that makes Top40 music so..... so..... mund-numbing and yet nauseating at the same time.
There's also the out of print games. I recently paid 40.00 USD for a good working copy of Final Fantasy VII(PSX) on Half.com after looking in EVERY video game store in town.
If 99.999% of the people jumped off a bridge, I wouldn't need to.
Now the ecological ramifications of all that biomass decaying at the same time.... I wonder if any enviroterrorists have calculated that one yet....
Couldn't you set the swap to run on a Fast Flash Disk? That would allow for faster swapping (or paging for the Winders crowd). I've been meaning to try this, but I don't know how much they cost.
XP Home may have these things but they are hidden. (You know, the OS MOST home users have.) Group Policy? HA!, file permissions? Double HA!. you have to import a DLL from an NT something or other. Did it once. but lost interest.
The problem lies solely in the hands of the software developers. Why do I have to run some programs as Administrator (QuickBooks) and some not? If all programs ran as a user, then MS could change the default to user. until then, Windows will ALWAYS have this problem.
Yes it is. Rght after the book of Armaments is the book of Artsiness.
Thou that are lacking in all things aesthetic, take ye an artsy chick so that thou shalt not be shallow, and lonely, and excessively pale of skin, and desultory, and urefined, and shunned, and...
But what did they do at work?
I would argue thatchances are that the folks who work graveyard have higher exposure to potentially cancerous materials than your average 9 to fiver.
Was the study based on their direct coleages at the same workplace performing the same job?
I use Genre in Itunes to facilitate smart lists and auto updading. So if you have an idea what music goes together well with pther music. use it simply as a sort label how does MusicBrainz integrate with iTunes?
And I will call this pile of poop an oatmeal creme pie. Eat up!
Do they live at the same house? or should I be calling the MPAA right now?
I tried to bring this up with the roaming Mormons in the neighborhood, but they must have thought I was speaking Hebrew or something. blank stares....
I think the martians periodically repair them. But not too well as that would rouse our suspicions...
$few = rand(10,35); I haven't seen it yet, except for the first $few minutes of the screener copy at Fry's out of the corner of my eye.
- Quitting your job
- Buying plane tickets to the new country
- Freight for your belongings
- naturalization in your new country
- finding a new place to live
- finding a new job
- getting all the misc odds & ends tied up
Also:- distancing yourself from all your friends and relatives
The expense and uncertainty involved tend to keep people where they are. Besides, what if your new country sucks too?You know, I think that they will be neat and all, but people in this town have a hard enough time driving in 2D. Add a vertical component and I'll NEVER make it to work on time.

They also produce methane.

Anyway, Eve won Lots of awards elsewhere
Just for fun, I told my wife to do that. The look on her face was priceless!!
I think I get to sleep on the couch tonight.
perhaps I am naive...

Fact checking will cost the same. Publishers will pass the cost on to the consumer like always. Books will cost more. Just like it always has.
