    I think you'll find that you don't own it. You've most likely bought a licence to view it under certain limited conditions (home and domestic use probably)

    Just because something came on physical media doesn't mean you own it.

    In the UK, Sage tends to be the more common accounts software, again Windows only though.

    Yet again, the NEXT version of Windows will be a stunning break from the past ?

    How is this news ? they say that about every next version of Windows.

    The NEXT version of Windows will sing, dance, do your shopping and make your coffee all at the same time.

    Come time for release when they have to rip out all the stuff they promised but can't deliver you'll discover that it's tone deaf, has two left feet, can't find the shops but makes a passable cup of instant.

    The advertising will hail it as a marvelous step forward because it can make coffee and forget that it was supposed to sing, dance and shop as well.

    When it comes time to mandate the standard you're going to use, just say it has to be ISO recognised and correctly identify leap years.

    That's the MS standard out the window as it thinks 1900 was a leap year.

    They could be big, small or middle sized, it just shouldn't be acceptable that computers crash regularly or even need rebooted. They should just work

    You did read the notes for that KB/patch that you posted didn't you ?

    "Hard disk drives may not be recognized after update 943899 is applied. Certain SATA hard disk drives are not recognized after a computer resumes from sleep or hibernation when v1.0 of update 934899 has been applied. The drives are sent incorrect data, and the data changes several hard disk settings. One of these settings is "power up on standby mode." This behavior keeps the hard disk from spinning, and the system will not start."

    A speed camera is what is known as a fixed penalty offence, providing that you're not excessively over the speed limit.

    Instead of going to court, you are offered a settlement of a £60 fine and 3 penalty points on your licence.

    If you accumulate 12 points or more within 3 years then you are banned for 6 months.

    It installed itself on my Windows 2003 Server domain controller which has neither of those products installed on it.
