Was thinking about how we in Britain have gone about catching the people who bombed/attempted to bomb London.
The first set are all dead apart from the organiser, no sign of him yet as far as I know.
The second set seem to mostly be caught and in custody now.
Sovereign nations invaded as a result of bombings - NIL
How many people related to 11/9 have the American authorities caught ofter organising the invasion of sovereign nations and blowing up almost everything they could find there ?
Gives pause for thought on the most effective way of going about things doesn't it ?
Microsoft will tie windows update to the new browser just to be on the safe side.
They've already done something similar by making windows update refuse to work with the original release of XP, it's SP1 minumum these days for XP users.
I always thought of the MSX as Microsofts fledgling attempts to control home computer industry standards.
I have to say as a strategy it has been brilliantly realised after they learnt from their mistakes and decided to go the software route rather than trying to control the hardware.
We had 3 complaints against our small call centre operation from people who registered in the 3 days it took for our dialler to get through the TPSd list.
All 3 occasions we were found to have complied with the requirement to TPS the list before loading the dialler.
After the 3rd one we started loading smaller lists into the dialler to avoid the possibility of complaints.
They're a publicly funded body, you'd have to pay for the BBC over and above taxes. It's called a TV licence and it's currently £121 per year.
Mind you, that's less than satellite and cable charge a month so overall it's worth it.
For god only knows what reason we STILL have some 95 machines at work. Most of them are 2k now though

Ian Banks stays down the road from me, don't actually know the guy but he's from Fife same as me so he must be a genius !!!!!
So, is this copy of Visual Studio 2005 I got free from some company called Microsoft in Germany a dud then ?
That explains a lot of things about it !!!!!

I forget what my point was now, oh well.......
I want to know what happened to 99-1999, I'm sure they were cruddy test versions.
MS probably rolled them out as Me
Report them to the Telephone Preference Service if they're a firm operating in the UK.
There are fairly hefty fines for failing to check your call centre autodialer list against the TPS register and they're on a case by case basis.
The more people who complain against these rogue companies the more it'll cost them.
I would suspect that you don't even know what's legal and what isn't in Finland.
Met him at an exhibition in Edinburgh, just a normal bloke who happened to be a famous actor with plenty of time for his many fans.
Not a bad fake Scots accent in amongst the real Scots either.
E Gaxy Gygar always said that the books were guidlines, not hard and fast rules.
Only a rules lawyer can't figure out that the only important rule is the DM is always right.
I don't mind, I was on holiday last week and missed it the first time around.
Not so sure about that.
There was this one time, at a Star Trek convention......
Sorry, I can't go on, I'll get flashbacks.
I suppose it was too much to hope for that you'd RTFA, after all this is /.
You could have at least read the summary before your typing got ahead of your brain though.
This is getting worse than trying to track a Gnome library ;-)
So, sticks and stones may break my bones but words will cause me law suits ?
