    I had such high expectations of the next Red Book. I was hoping for a more modern approach to OpenGL. What a shame.

    not happening, gpgpu mostly deals with fragment shaders. to my knowledge xbox's have gpu's roughly equivalent to geforce 3.5's. you need at least a geforce fx or greater to do gpgpu (fragment shader and 32-bit fp capabilities)

    I agree that this a horrible idea... but: response: SDL/OpenGL. What you said is very misleading... SDL is a very powerful library, together with OpenGL , there's not much more you would need to program a game.
