You guys that are saying that, you don't have the side of research on you. It may be one thing to say, "I'd beat my kid until they'd learn to be quiet," but that practice just DOESNT work. It causes a whole host of problems within the child including insecure attachment, mental scarring, and the justification of the use of aggression to solve problems. Here's a little riddle for you: Two kids are on the playground, and one of them is running around, pushing people over, hitting, kicking, etc. The other is playing in the sand with a smaller group of kids, interacting, using social skills such as sharing. Which one of these kids is the one which gets hit with a belt whenever he misbehaves? From that angle it is completely different, right?

We used to use corporal punishment in our schools and in our homes and you
know what our country was fine. Not that great of a crime rate and such.
Well lo and behold these people came preaching the US way about beating children is wrong so school and households changed their methods. Guess what, you should take a look at the crime rate over there now. I may be wrong about what the evidence points to but it seems pretty clear to me what happened. Call that my research. The reason i believe the US got so crazy about the corporal punishment thing is that alot of people just mistook their children for punching bags. There is a difference between a punch to the face and a little slap on the wrist.
Yes i was raised like that and i never beat on anyone anywhere and have no violent tendancies, i think i'm quite the opposite. Stop blaming your parents for your behavior and own up to it yourselves.

It's quotes like that that really make me wonder why our goverment doesn't legalize marijuana and tax it like tobacco. Save billions on enforcement (~80% of drug arrests are marijuana possession), and make tens of billions in taxes.

Actually after playing GTA and OBSERVING a little. You will find that after stamping said female till your foot swells does not kill her.

Personally i play videogames so i can do the things which i can't do in real life such as be in a gun fight and being pumped full of bullets while still living and managing to clear the 20 guys taking me on simulatenously or blowing down the highway taking out other cars in burnout 3 or Does that mean i am going to try this in real life? If i did i expect everyone to laugh at my funeral cause i got to be the dumbest person on earth. When did we forget the GAME in videogames??
I agree we haven't yet reached the chimeric point in tech. Consider though, you actually think that if they create an animal hybrid with enough brains to be employed in the workforce that it is not going to be expoited and put to "work" a 23 hour day. Hell humans are exploited everyday and we supposedly have alot more rights than any creature out there. Oh were uplifitng them? I sometime wished life was as simple as being an animal(other than human). Give them a brain and they might come to that same conclusion and resent us in the process leading to violence.
I don't know why the majority of gamers play games but i do it cause just for a moment i would like to escape reality. A reality where i might not have a sixpack and have to look at butt ugly people everyday on the street and at work.
Hell yeah give me that fantasy where i can be taller and stronger and just be surrounded by babes.
