No one would remember Rodney King if someone had not caught the police beating him on video

Which shows how tricky a video can be. What you saw on TV was just snippets. The full one is what the jury saw -- and that made them acquit the policemen.

RODNEY KING FACTS: he was high on drugs, possibly PCP, speeding down the road; the police had to chase him; he resisted arrest, and tried to punch a policeman; he was so high that even a taser didn't bring him down, so the policemen had no choice but use their clubs; they repeatedly told him to surrender, but he tried again and again to get up, so they had to keep striking until he was not a threat.

And since then he has been arrested several times -- wifebeating, drugs, trying to run over a cop. A victim of racism and police brutality? Fuck that bullshit. Rodney King is nothing but a junkie scumbag.

Buying and using a game machine does not make one a gamer; just as one who listens to Ozzy because of that crappy MTV show is not a rocker, unless he takes the time to actually learn about rock. Anyone who thinks videogame == PlayStation 2 (and there are tons of people like that) is not a true gamer. One has to know about the history of the gaming industry, and the main currently available systems. Otherwise we're talking about a "weekend gamer", at most.

Sure I didn't own "stock" in Sega when I was 10 - but I had a Master System. To a 10 year old, that's the equivalent of owning a lot of stock, because it's not like you're going to get two consoles. And the value of that stock is very apparent to you when your friends are playing Mario 3 and you're playing some incomprehensible turd (though Shinobi was good..).
Phantasy Star. R-Type. Alex Kidd in Miracle World. Sonic. Castle of Illusion. Ghouls 'N Ghosts. Golden Axe. Tri-Formation. Streets of Rage. F-16 Fighting Falcon. Master of Darkness. Sagaia. Really, the Master System had some awesome games that could kick the ass of any NES equivalent.
