    We know we have already contaminated Mars. This could just be evidence that the clean room environments we built the Mars crasher ^M^M^M^M^M^M^M polar explorers in, were not clean.

    For the conspiricist:
    Was there a sinister (living) payload in the polar explorers? There is a lot of funding to be gained.

    My old ~1987 Proton D940 uses magnetic amplifiers. The little reciever/amp clocks in at around 40lbs. Sounds better than almost everything available today.

    I wonder why this technology quietly died.

    I wonder why this technology went away. It sounds better than most current ~$1500 recievers.

    All muscles. This is fairly well documented in animals. Death related to a heart muscle so thick it will no longer function properly is common.

    Let's all hope the doctors and scientists have good luck. They are trying to figure out how to save this child's life. If left the way he is, his heart will become too thick to stay functional.
    This condition has been documented in animals, which have all died at a fairly young age.

    This is just this child's misfortune to be the first documented human case.

    What is stupid about it? The UN.org servers should be treated the same way as any other net server. The political affiliations of the group who owns the server does not grant that server special status.

    The retail stores would have a large crowd of unhappy consumers within a week of a major release wanting to exchange the defective DVD for a new one. This would be a very bad PR risk for all involved in selling these.

    The real use of this technology is sales demos, military operations, transfer of medical records, etc. Your new anti-Linux memos "Halloween Documents" would be a lot less likely to make it to ESR.

    There will always be a manufacturer who will need to pay his employees.
    The cost could be relocated elsewhere. But in the end it comes back to the consumer.
    If Microsoft were to give everyone who buys their software a PC, they would just transfer the costs to the consumer anyway.

    What MS OS contains the same value as a Linux distribution? None!! Add the applications that come with a Boxed Linux distribution and you get so much more than with a Box of MS Windows. Linux Distributions come complete with word processor, spread sheet, databases, graphic creation, utilities, games, etc. Which Desktop Linux Distribution is $180-$300 anyway, or is he comparing an MS OEM or upgrade price with a retail price?

    Second, it is the job of the hardware vendor to support their device on any platform. Linux is fine. Hardware OEMs have a way to go, and they will as the community grows. One of his misconceptions is in calling being a teenager an Achilles heal. Sure your voice may change, your clothes might not fit next week, and some people just do not try to understand you, but since stopping the passing of time is impossible you will eventually mature. No Achilles heal here, just being a teenager.

    I personally think MS could learn a lot from gnome.
    The usability simply can not be beat.
    Where I work less than 5% of our workforce (80,000+)spends any time with a file browser. The files are simply saved and opened with the file dialog. I think his review is like this because he likes cola and this is beer, and that does not make this bad beer.

    They cheated. They had an inferior program and lied about the incompatabilities that they purposely made. If you were using wordperfect on and had an issue you called Novell help they said to call MS. MS would tell you the problem was with Novell. The same thing with Lotus Amnipro.
    The only way to avoid the blame game was to use MS office.
    MS purposely introduced the other programs issues, and did not tell Novell, Lotus or anyone which dll(s) were functioning in different than expected ways.

    Do not forget also that the 3.1 upgrade was specifically designed to break compatability with OS2
