    There are no jobs out there especially if you live in the Midwest.

    Right now, I'm making plans to into farming.

    Let me know how that goes... Farming is going to have far more hardships than any technology field.

    If you really want to do better the Midwest is a giant sucking sound of jobs going down the drain. People, jobs, and companies are more interested in the western and eastern US. The center of the country is gonna be a giant void in the future.

    Midwest = Shitty cold Siberian winters and sticky hot summers.

    Muah ha ha ha Muah ha ha ha... UNM... Next thing you're going to tell me is UNM is a real contender in college basketball.

    UNM is a sorry ass school. Try a real college like Purdue, MIT, Stanford, Michigan State, etc.

    Umm, what the hell? The Gamecube has plenty of "Gamecube Only" games. I guess you don't mind that? I'd buy Mario Cart for the XBox today, if it was available!

    1.) It doesn't have a hard drive -- Geeze, that's the only reason I bought the damn XBox. Otherwise, I would have bought the Gamecube or PS2.
    2.) It's not backwards compatible -- Look at the PS2 , nuff said.
    3.) They actually reduce the RAM from 512 to 256, not include a hard drive, or do anything stupid because the PS3 did the same. -- I'm tired as hell of companies putting out sucky products because the competition is no better (Maybe if the PS3 doesn't include an ethernet adaptor they will revert to a 56k modem. I bet Xbox Live will run great at 56k!!!).

    For me it was Constructs. Constructs were W-Beams (of varying size) and 6 way connectors. Although Legos were still pretty cool! :)

    Ummm... Actually, wouldn't the worst problem be bone density loss. That's one of the main problems on the ISS (International Space Station). Without the effect of gravity, bone density decreases. From what I understand it's a pretty nasty recovery. The time required to go to and from Mars plus mission time would require much more time in space than any ISS mission to date.

    Besides being a poor review; as in no real insight into the book.... The reviewer doesn't seem to be a reliable source. I don't put much faith into someone who is unwilling to upgrade to XP when they are having terrible problems with 98. It wouldn't have surprised me if he was running ME. ;-) I get tired of people complaining about a six year old operating systems. If he doesn't want to pay for Windows, he could easily use SUSE, Fedora, Mandrake, Debian, Gentoo, etc...

    Actually... There is an MMU package that you can purchase for VxWorks 5.5 that supports memory protection. Oh, by the way... It's not standard (It costs a pretty penny)! :)

    As to the shared memory for each task... You can actually create private task evironments using VX_PRIVATE_ENV as an option for taskSpawn. Just remember that any device drivers initialized with handles in a task will no longer be available once that task shuts down! ;-)

    Oh yeah, sorry I forgot they are now called Forceware. :) Kinda expected my computer to levitate after installing the latest drivers. Not sure why they changed names? Guess it's better than the computer exploding.

    Not sure why this article is so great. They seem a little biased towards ATI. I realize that the current ATI cards are supposedly faster than the NVIDIA variety, but I'm sure they still have the same crappy driver support. At least with an NVIDIA chipset, I know I will have great Detonator driver support. Oh, did I mention great linux support.

    Sorry, ATI is that great. I'd rather sacrifice a little speed for stability and driver support. (Although I do like my ATI Tv Wonder card)

    Stability and system quality? WHERE? I constantly hear that OSX is sooo much more stable and sooo much better, but I never hear why... Don't even try the blue screen of death. Since Win2000 and WinXP I haven't seen the BSOD. BTW: I have one machine running Mandrake 9.2 and the other running XP.

    If Apple really wanted to be a player in the OS world, they would quit dancing around Micro$oft and go head to head with a PC version of OSX. Instead they hide in the PPC world and tout that OSX is WAY better than Windose. I'm sorry, but KDE/Linux at least (quite successfully IMHO) stands up and makes a run at competition. Otherwise, Apple will remain as an obscure system only taking cheap shots at the PC world. Oh, and picking up cash on the side for programs like iTunes and Quicktime (from the real market... the PC) Besides, what do they have to lose? Office for Apple? Please!

    Ok... Just checked... VMWare is included in the PowerPack. Which is $69 US dollars. Discovery Distribution doesn't appear to offer VMWare.

    The capsule is in the plans for two reasons. One it's easier... NASA can make the 2008 deadline. (Even though "fast" deadlines were frowned upon by the Columbia report) Second, a capsule can be used to go to the moon; a "plane" version cannot. Cool and cutting edge in space equals problems and disaster.

    Then next year you could try removing Wordpad and just using notepad. Wouldn't want all the extra features of Wordpad to get in the way. Maybe you could go back to MS-DOS editor. Oh wait... Even better... How about vi?
