The recording industry filed its latest complaints against "John Doe" defendants, identifying them only by their numeric Internet protocol addresses.
How does the RIAA know who was downloading the song. Most dorm rooms have more than one person. It could have been the roomate that was doing the downloading. Are you automatically guilty because you are the owner of the computer that has the "illegal" files? How do they know that you don't own the cd? I'm sure questions like these have been answered in previous discussions but I would like to know how the RIAA can prove with out doubt that you have no legal rights to the song and that you downloaded it. I guess this is what the courts are for.
Maybe what they are talking about is different, but there is already software to block floating ads. Just search google and software such as this and this claim to block in-your-face floating ads. I have never used these and probably wouldn't since they cost money and google is doing a fine job for me.
I just downloaded 70 songs, it works great. The speed isn't the best but I'm sure this is due to the slashdot effect. I'm getting from 30k - 70k sec. There is a good selection of artist, not just the new pop crap. I've found music from Nickel Creek, Doc Watson, and Tony Rice to name a few. (bluegrass music, nickel creek rocks!)
You can download the download manager and have it running, then while on another pc buy some more songs and they will be on your computer when you get home.
I don't really care if the artist get any money, I go to concerts of good artists. I doubt they make much from cd sales. I just hope the RIAA a$$hats will learn that they can make money if they will sell at a reasonable price.
a WAP on them I could see the use. Brian: Amazing Peter, you can barely drive a car but you're allowed to fly a blimp. Peter: Yeah, America's great isn't it...except for the South.
"We're fine," she joked. "No health problems. The radiation has got used to us." Tatiana Khrushch, 66, agreed. "The air's clean, the water's lovely and the mushrooms are great," she said. I bet they don't have health problems, or they THINK they don't have health problems. I bet they think they are Scooby-Doo too.
Why not give them usb stick and they can save their files to it, save docs and such, take it home and have access. I wouldn't trust a senior in high school with a laptop computer.
Oh man you are hilarious! I got my CCNA when I was 19 and have not gotten paid 40 bucks an hour (I'm 23 now.) for any job I've done. You must have been the same person that told me that I would make 100K+ if I got my CCNP, guaranteed!
Currently, one month's pay at that rate that would pay my rent, food, utilities, cable, phone, gas, and 6 months of car insurance, with a sizable chunk left over. You must rent a cardboard box and eat scraps from a garbage bin and steal cable and have a walkie talkie for a phone and drive a scooter to have a sizeable chunk left from that pay.
Yeah, I hate having extra space, it drives me nuts! My question is:
Ipod mini 249.00 4gig, Ipod 299.00 15gig I don't understand why you would purchase the mini ipod. Its not amazingly smaller and only 50 dollars cheaper.
The latest version of Diebold's GEMS software that was certified in California is 117.17; the audit revealed that counties were using other versions, such as 117.20, 117.22, 117.23, 118.18, and 118.18.02. The audit also revealed that three counties -- Los Angeles, Trinity and Lassen -- were using software versions that had not been approved for use at the federal level.
I think that humans are a bit more than dirty bags of water. These guys need to come down to reality.
