Oh God, do you have *ANY* idea what you've done if someone in SCO reads this? They'll think Mozilla really could be sued by MS, because they're both Web browsers.. They'll eventally try to patent OPERATING SYSTEMS
That Windows can't fill in for Linux on extremly high-bandwidth servers? ( those patches aren't small )
Which is why, thank God, there has never been a worm written by a real cracker. It's all been from good old Windows documented exploits.
For some reason, i don't take closure that the NSA's version of Linux is going into stock kernels, even if it is open sourece :(
Huge diffrence. You still need a local account to make use of a local root exploit. You don't for remote root exploits. Remote root exploits can be used in worms, local (for the most part) cannot. Not to say that local root exploits should be overlooked, especially when they seem realtivly simple to create (e.g., bad symlinks) Besides, this is supposedly an *UNKNOWN* local root exploit..
I was under the impression that there are always undisclosed root exploits for every major OS used, you just don't know about them. I mean, this is a big crack, i don't expect it to be a well publicized exploit.
And, unless im mistaken, all you have to do is drop in a floppy or a cd thats bootable, and you have complete access to the entire system as root.
Not a threat, something that, once taken over, allows them to control what you see on the internet.
Expect that's about Starwars zealotry.. i don't even see a link to a game anywhere in there.
Wow.. two groups who are very much alike happen to have names which are very much alike.. Who would have thought...
Nitpicking, i know, but actally two things were edited in FLCL. "shit" was edited out of ep. 4, and an enlarged penis was blurred out of ep. 6 And if you want to consider it editing, due to time constraints, the credits were cut out of ep 6.
It's not up to Adult Swim, it's either raped versions or none at all.
Those are people, not the FBI. I'm sure theres places that are the exact opposite of what you desribed (the harrassed, and the harrasser.)
Heh, they're politicians, you really think they're going to understand that?
It's interesting, but he did not actally crack the encyrption\decryption, he simply cracked Quicktime to dump off the decrypted contents.
Then maybe people might start taking security seriously.
With the amount of stuff on that front page, i would say it probably got /.'d in seconds.
Bad legislation meets bad legislation... They'd probably just amend it and say the RIAA and only the RIAA can circumvent encyrption to sue those nasty pirates.
Alternative? Make accusers pay for the defendent's lawyers if they aren't found guilty. I think they already do this in Britin..
It would be in YRO if MICHAEL got to post it.
+5 trusted computing is bad.
Damn there goes my uptime.
I like my idea better. Vaporate your spamming problems instantly! It's a lot more effective then a fine :)
How did connecting it to Jesus make you stop getting together with friends and family?
Or one that doesn't require a new computer..
