So in addition to being a proprietary technology, Flash helps keep the applications proprietary as well. I wouldn't call that a strength.
Christ... I'm sorry, but the rest of the world does not always see things the way that the open-source community does. Learn to live with it; it's not a strength for a lot of people, as the original poster has clearly pointed out.
AAC is not lossless, but it does compress better than MP3 does at relatively low bitrates. 128kbps AAC (which is what the Apple Music Store sells) certainly isn't lossless, but it does sound excellent. I know a few people who rip at 128-192kbps AAC though.
Sigh. How many times does it have to be explained? Burning CDs and ripping them will obviously produce a slight loss in quality, as well using up a blank CD. Cracking the DRM on the files has neither side effect.
I don't know about the Silent Hill ones, but the Resident Evil (1 and Zero) pictures look just like in-game shots to me. The graphics in both games on the Gamecube are absolutely astounding (and terrifying, I might add).
It sucks, but I really don't think it's as much of a problem as you make it out to be. Aside from the opening scene, the Gamecube pictures look much better to me.
Well... how about fans who don't wat to support Microsoft by buying an Xbox? Trust me, the Mac community is not overjoyed by the loss of the company that was once their best game developer.
I've noticed that on my 10.3 upgrade install, Japanese input is sort of flaky. I use the caps lock to switch between Japanese alphabets, and this feature often fails to work.
Also, Safari seems to have issues sometimes when it runs into animation-heavy sites. The cursor stops updating its icon (like when you move it over a link, it doesn't change), and Safari itself has troubles going to the links you try to click on.
One more thing (although this is just a pet peeve): when you navigate to any of the "special" folders like Pictures, Movies, Documents or whatever inside your Home folder in Column view, you can't scroll to the left anymore. This is especially annoying when you're in an Open/Save dialogue.
Unfortunately, it doesn't do tabs (I think they're planned for version 5 though). Kind of funny that a browser that prides itself on advanced features doesn't have tabs.
OS X apps can use Aqua or brushed metal (or their own nonstandard GUI, of course). This is a choice made by the developer, but apps can be tweaked by users with either a third-party app called Metallifizer, or with the developer tools. I personally can't stand the brushed metal, but some people seem to like it.
Oh, and just a note, a lot of Apple's apps are nonstandard brushed metal (iTunes, the Finder in 10.3). This means that you need a lot of workarounds to change them to Aqua.:(
No, it's true... for certain iPods. I've had 2 replacements for my 20 gig iPod (weird issues), and the current one gets terrible battery life compared to the others.
I use my old Powerbook 170 all the time; it's still an amazingly solid laptop. Great for word processing and old Mac games. I'm glad I got it used a few years ago though, apparently they went for $4000 USD new.
Quake 3 for Dreamcast could play against Mac/Win Quake 3.

Heh.. if I had mod points, you'd get them for the ATHF reference.
The Windows hack is used to create unprotected files that can (in theory anyway) be listened to under Linux or other operating systems/media devices.
I thought it was the music of the artists who wrote it, not the RIAA's music. Oh, wait...

But if Company X's batteries last for a long time, more consumers would buy their batteries.
If you actually enjoy watching what's essentially a movie in cutscenes (plus extremely repetitive action), that game is for you!
You obviously don't watch Sealab 2021 or Aqua Teen Hunger Force then...

I definitely agree. Marathon Infinity is one of those games that was so far ahead of its time... I still love playing it multiplayer whenever I can.

You sure are a dishonest lout who should be smacked soundly. Normally I would agree, but I really don't have much sympathy for Walmart.
Come on - I'm a Mac user, but I think that's actually kind of interesting. It's just over half the weight.
The comment wasn't about the durability, it was about how much the design looks like that TiBook (which it does).
Anyone know if the series will eventually make it to Gamecube?
And if none of those work, you can alway open up a command prompt and type "rmdir /s \"
Ooh! Is that similar to the "sudo rm -rf" command people have been telling me to use to fix my problems with OS X?
No, Bungie being sucked up by MS is pretty obviously Satan's work anyway.
