So why doesn't this company give mame.net some cash to trademark MAME and then in return, mame.net allow UltraCade to go after the "MAME" machines using mame.net's trademark.
Netscape Navigator used to be $49.95 unless you just ran the shareware version all the time and basically ripped off the comapny. I used to routinely buy the web browser until IE stopped sucking (v3.0+). And it wasn't until the Mozilla/AOL days until netscape didn't charge for the web browser.
The whole G4 thing reminds me of the simpsons episode where the comic book guy said "worst episode ever!" (which was also the title of the Simpsons episode)

XBox Owner Sues Microsoft

I can see it now, in a few months we'll receive a letter letting us choose one of the following:
1) opt-out of the class action lawsuit, so we can file suit against Microsoft later.
2) doing nothing, which makes you part of the lawsuit and you forfeit your rights to file suit over Microsoft products, but you'll be entitled to a $1.20 rebate towards your next Microsoft purchase (lawyers will collect millions).
3) attend a public hearing about the lawsuit.
Class action lawsuits are stupid and the guy whining about his xbox not working doesn't realize he is being used by the lawyer for the lawyer's benefit and not his. He needs to just go to Walmart, spend $150 on a new XBox and return the broken one in the new one's packaging...problem solved!!
If you don't have IE installed on the computer how else do expect anybody to acquire and/or learn about any other web browser?? Would you expect your mother or granmother to run the command line FTP client and some how know where to go to download mozilla?? We should probably thank companies like Microsoft and AOL for going out of their way at their expense to deliver ways for non computer junkies to get on the "internet". And how do you figure IE is not "the Internet"?? It views all of the internet data that Mozilla (and others) browse and then some.
Now you're on to something.....we make up the difference in the.9lbs limation by using the explosive compounds found in fireworks....next stop: the Moon!!
They're not dangerous....I once built a shoulder mounted rocket launcher out of a small estes rocket and I'm sure it would have been cool to watch slam into my parent's house had my face and eyes not been burned by the exhaust.
And if they were to actually buy those bombs it would employee 1000's of people and would result in millions, if not billions, of dollars in tax revenue that they could spend on even more bombs to employ even more people to get more tax money to buy more bombs to employ more people to get more tax mon...wait a minte, i thought perpetual motion wasn't possible.
Wonder if her techniques would fool the fingerprint scanner on the high-end iPaq PPCs?? It's not the type you press your finger on, you have to roll your finger over a narrow scanner...so the "gelatin" technique doesn't seem like it would be as effective on the rolling sytems because you'd be stretching/skewing the gelettin imprint....just a thought.
I don't think I fully understand the point of the settlement.....didn't WA accuse the RIAA of selling music at really high prices?? First off why would the RIAA settle this lawsuit, I think they were in the right on this one....if I want to make a music CD and sell it for $100,000,000 a copy and you're dumb enough to buy it, that's your problem, not mine! It really pisses me off when consumers claimed they were ripped off because the prices were too high (eg Microsoft Windows lawsuits)....nobody, and I mean nobody, is forcing you to buy anything and there is absolutely no need to buy those products, most things are either for entertainment or to increase your productivity and if you want to have fun and be lazy then you're going to have to pay for it. So if you don't like the price of something and want to not only send a message to the company selling the item, but the whole industry, then don't buy those types of products....that'll force the company(s) to lower their prices. And what WA attorney would even say "give me a warehouse full of old CDs and we'll call it even"...how does that even remotely benefit anybody, especially the consumers that were supposedly ripped off?!?!?!
I agree with what you said, but my point is that why should they even be discussing open source or closed source vs discussing what is going to meet their needs. It's almost like it shouldn't even come up in the conversation on whether or not it's open source (well maybe) when they're trying to decide what they need.....if they select a product that just happens to be open source, then that's a plus for them....but if the solution they need is not open source, then oh well.
I think it really shows how stupid some governments and corporate managers are when they actually have to form committee to decide whether or not to use open source. Instead of trying to decide whether to use open source why not try to figure out what problems you have, if and how a computing solution can solve those problems, what software is available to solve the problems, and then finally, and only if there are multiple solutions, decide which one offers the most benefit for the TCO. What'll end up happening is that France (and others) will move to an open source only solution and they'll end up spending more money trying to integrate an OSS solution than if those cheap asses just would have bought the commercial equivalent (eg Microsoft Office).
MindDrive had a product that did the exact same thing about 10 years ago as this and you can get it on ebay for $15 now. It works, but it's very stupid and pointless.

Excellent....I've been laughing for almost 20 minutes over this.

Don't these devices already exists? What makes this one so special?
I'm glad to see that Mozilla is striving to mimic IE in every way: http://washingtontimes.com/upi-breaking/20040709-0 25323-6615r.htm

I'm not into farming or anything like it, but I think a tractor farming game is way over due.

Oh, I figured I got that from my laptop :)
They're not dangerous....I once built a shoulder mounted rocket launcher out of a small estes rocket and I'm sure it would have been cool to watch slam into my parent's house had my face and eyes not been burned by the exhaust.
Just launch the rockets anyway and run (so you don't get a fine or jail time).....seriously, what are they going to do? Catch the rocket in mid air?

They could buy about 31,000 GBU-28 5000lbs laser guided bombs or 4,700 AGM-86B cruise missles.
I think my PC may have herpes.....no wait, it's just Windows.

Well that's what happens when your school is forced to teach you using Big Pun CDs vs using a book.

This article clearly calls for the Bill Gates Borg icon instead of the patent pending one.

Sounds like you don't use your computer for anything useful.
