  1. The key requires you to also install their video camera. So there is that. I still personally wouldn't do it. IoT has not proven secure enough to replace my locks.

    Install the File server resource manager role on a windows server and you can basically do just that. There are tons of instructions on the internet on how to use FSRM to block ransomware pretty much outright on network shares.

    Yes, my add was that if there is actually a market for the written word someone will exploit it. I put it in the context that if you are afraid this model is drying in the current media and you believe there is a market for it, then you have a good business model and should exploit it. I'm sorry you are unable to read between the lines.

    The fire stick is popular enough they don't need to. The last time I was in best buy there was a limit of 2 per customer.

    Amazon had prime day deals on their new TV's with amazon fire built in. In fact a 50 inch 4k tv with a sound bar, antenna, and firetv built in for $399 is an amazing deal.

    I typically find that the drop in battery life and the bloat of firmware updates made it impossible to keep a nexus line phone over 3 years and still be as usable as it was day one. The iphone 7+ is my first iPhone sense the 3. Let's see how it holds out.

    When I buy a $1500 notebook, I expect it to last at least 5 years. The same will be true if I buy a $1500 iphone. I really love my iphone and I hope to they don't do something like this. It was annoying enough to switch from android to ios, I don't want to go back.

    Just a FYI, there is a mac client. This article is targeted at windows users, it still works fine on OSX.

    Exactly! I had a company where the password policy was simply that users must pick a password of a minimum complexity and passwords did not expire. We passed all our audits.

    Plus SLA's protect your team and the team of the other department.

    Let's we have a new hire service, the SLA states that it takes 72 hours to provision a new user and configure their equipment, but if the equipment is in stock it's 24 hours. You then have managers coming to you the day an employee starts asking you to set them up and upset with you that you can't do it RIGHT NOW. This article seems to suggest that we shouldn't point to the agreement and hold them to it, but rather try to convince a rather unreasonable person that they are being unreasonable (especially because they always do this).

    The SLA allows me to cover my ass when they go to my boss and say the IT manager is being unreasonable because he isn't psychic.
