Here is where it would make sense.

All members in the group have a gmail account, and send the files around to each other within gmail. sending from gmail to gmail would use none of your bandwidth and no worries about FTP bandwidth and hosting.

All of the cost for space and bandwidth would fall on google at that point.

Anytime you receive a message, you dont see it, but a reply is sent to the sender with a link to a page to purchase access to you, ie - "Im sorry, but I have blocked all incomming email, if you would like me to see what you have sent me, please click on the link below and purchase X amount of views". Then they could purchase what basically amounted to stamps to send you X amount of messages. If they are just a bot, or a dead address, you would never know the better. When they completed the purchase, they would then be given a key etc etc. This would all run behind the scenes with your email client, and you would never see spam again unless you got paid to view it. Now i just need to stop being lazy and start implementing it...

This is the first election that I will be voting in, and when I first started looking at all of the candidates I felt very overwhelmed. This got me to thinking about what the average voter must feel and how they decide to vote. 10 years ago, they must have relied soley on who the newspapers and who their party said to vote on, but now there are so many good resources on the net that with minimal research a voter can be very informed.

I spent about two hours looking over sites like the offical election site for my state and Young Voters which has a profile for each candidate, where they stand on their positions, and what other services they have been involved in.

Now the only thing holding people back from being an informed voter is lazyness, or blind devotion to party lines.

I'm not saying that they should care about this small percentage of users either, but it isnt these users fault that MS sells the Xbox at a loss. So instead of finding a business model that allows for these people to purchase an Xbox for what every purpose they want to use it for, MS finds that it is easier to stick to the old model and take away the right/ability to use what you purchased for what ever you want to do.

I know that MS needs to make money off of what they sell, that is their right and it is important. But more important than that is that the consumer can own what they purchase.

no no no, I don't expect Microsoft to hand me schematics or have a tech support line for me if I screw it up, but to try to dissuade people from modding their purchase because it might hurt their bottom line is a step towards losing ownership.

ALSO, I do realize that every console goes through changes in every production, and that this very may well be just one of those changes. Both of my replies are assuming that they are putting specific measures into the product to make it move difficult to use the Xbox as you please.

Im sorry, going over my post, i think it didnt show my intent.

I am the creator of the device, my device doesnt create anything, and i dont purchase multiple copies of the movie (i only purchase one for my viewing/editing purposes).

All that the device does is hook up between the dvd player and the tv for the sole purpose of changing this one movie from the artists version to my edited version. The purchaser of my device will still have to purchase a copy of the movie themselfs, i do not furnish this. And again, my device does not contain any of the movie or any of the artists copyrighted material.

So, what is wrong with this device? I see nothing wrong with it, and if there is nothing wrong with selling a device that can do exactly what this company does - why wouldnt you just be able to sell edited movies that you purchased?

That, when hooked up between a dvd player and a television, changes one specific movie from the way the author intended to the way i belive it should be played (with more/less violence etc.) The device does not contain any of the original movie in it, it only modifies a copy (which the viewer would have to purchase seperately). I sell this device for a profit.

What is the difference between my device and the just purchasing and modifying each movie.
