I often notice many increased sensory abilities that others (family and friends) are just incapable of handling. For example, peripheral vision while driving. Reaction time in sports (frisbees, baseballs, tennis balls, etc). Sound and location of objects based on sound. Lastly is problem solving. Believe it or not, the tactical requirements and logical deductions in a high level of competition can be related to many different puzzles (just like in chess).
"They've got functionality nailed all the way back to DirectX 8, and are trying to push it all the way back to 7."
With a few simple commands in the console, the Source engine currently supports DirectX 7, although it is sometimes buggy and displays a few textures improperly. I believe the Episode 2 engine should have no problem performing at least on the same level as the current iteration.
If we saw a sample of the photos, it would be easy to determine if they could be fixed. Its hard to understand what the exact problem is from a text description, but the general answer is: Yes, anything can be done with The GIMP / PS.
Just search for Photoshop and Flash tutorials. The level of detail that tutorial websites go into nowadays is far beyond what many of us dealt with half a decade ago. You should have no problem learning the basics of design, just don't forget to Google.
Same here, NPR was the only reason to listen the the radio for me. So I switched to Sirius Satellite Radio, where I could hear Howard Stern and specific programming genres. It is currently $13.95 a month, and I would recommend the service to ANYONE who can afford it, especially those with long commutes who yearn for some good, uncensored Talk Radio. The daily show on Howard 100 is better than it has ever been on terrestrial radio, and the lineup of hosts on Howard 101 are entertaining too (especially if you like Nascar, Wrestling, and Football).
It just did, really, really, unexpectedly well. It is a good processor and has changed a lot of peoples opinions about the processor market and AMD's (and Intel's) competitiveness. I appreciate the fact that Intel, the top dog, is still willing to put up a fight and compete in price, performance, and power in a market that they already dominate.
Two servers appeared in the "Select A Server" combo box.
Both had a waiting time of 9 minutes
I select one, begin waiting.
I become impatient, hit back, select another.
Viola, the download begins immediately.
This game is not just used by casual gamers. Professional competition gamers play this CS:Source in tournaments both online and offline. I wonder if the weapon prices will affect the way tournaments are held. If a LAN doesn't update Steam in a while, could they possibly have old market prices? Will Valve allow servers to control whether or not their server abides by the market rules?
All I know is, the competitive community is absolutely opposed to this update. We just want a fun, team oriented game to play. Not an RPG.

I said competitive CS, not casual pubbing :)
Who cares when you can get a decent business machine for 400 bucks?
:)
I want a touch screen, with multi-point technology like on the iPhone or demonstrated here.
Obviously, whatever the fastest desktop hardware configuration is at the time would be a nice touch
Yes! Thank you for clarifying what I was trying to say :)

... who developed the 160-kilobit memory cell160000 / 2000 = 80
One word = 80 bits?
I've never heard of an 80-bit word architecture.
Unless of course they're speaking of an MS Word architecture, in which case even the byte count would be bloated

I never aim for number two, not when I can sit.
Its number one that tends to require more accuracy, otherwise you have to wipe up after.

I'm sure that getting Slashdotted will more than make up for it.

You spelled your last name wrong.
