  1. MILLIONS ARE GONNA DIE!!! on Sea Levels May Rise More Rapidly Due To Greenland Ice Melt · · Score: 1, Informative

So, I hear millions of people are going to die... Uhh... How? Are they just going to wade into water and drown themselves? Are they going to walk into deserts with no water? Are they going to sit in the sun, day after day, with no food or water? People that believe claims like this are complete idiots. And many do. Actually, we should be lucky, considering much of the Northern half of the USA is usually covered in thick sheets of ice. It's only because we're in a cycle as described by Milankovitch where, yes, the world is warming. But this is only temporary. As our irregular orbit around the sun continues, we'll eventually peak, and then quickly descend into another ice age. So really, enjoy the warming it while it lasts.

Or, some remote entity put up a fake site, harvested username/password info, and now the DNC is trying to tell voters not to worry.

  11. The entire premise of the article is flawed. on OSINT Analysis of Militia Communications, Equipment and Frequencies (wordpress.com) · · Score: -1

Whoever anonymously posted this article has falsely created the premise that militias across America should be using encrypted transmissions via high end radios. We don't because, well, that's ILLEGAL! Encrypted transmissions using HAM equipment is illegal. In fact, as part of Michigan's milita, we limit ourselves to public use frequencies, such as the FRS and MURS freqs. Only our members holding HAM radio licenses are allowed to use freqs out of the FRS/MURS range. As someone mentioned above, we use our own naming scheme for checkpoints, grid coordinates, and operations to help get around the lack of encryption. This by itself, is completely legal to do. In short, every militia has to act within the confines of the laws of this country and the state in which they reside. As far as $3000 AR's? If Mr Anonymous is looking to pick one up for 3K, he's getting ripped off. Most of use use AR's in the $500-1000 range, with optics ranging from $40 pairs of iron sights to Trijicon's costing just under $1K. Not too many of us wear armor, as that limits speed and requires more energy that hinders the wearer for longer exercises. As as far as using $30+ baofengs? They are disposable. With a repeater, they work great. And if they don't, chuck 'em and pull your spare out. Most of us have two or more anyways. Next point I want to make. I'm assuming most of the readers here will try to lump us into the same group as those in Oregon. Not even close. This so-called Bundy militia were all out of state, messing in the affairs of another state, and acting illegally. Every militia group I know did condemned them and their actions. We believe any action taken requires the approval of its citizens, which the Bundy group did not have. Note what happened in Flint Sunday with the Michigan Miltia, which was overwhelmingly approved by Flint residents and local medias. We protested corruption by the government in handling the situation, all the while collecting and donating water to affected citizens.
