I just started downloading the first CD and it's giving be a whopping 5 kilos per second. This is why bittorrent was invented, so hopefully some nice torrent site has Solaris 10.
I am sorry to hear that. I thought that there weren't that many US citizens over there (from some news I read earlier) but I guess that wasn't the case after all.
Over here in Finland (and Scandinavia I bet)

Most (all?) of the official New Year celebrations and fireworks have been cancelled. The money will be given to aid helping those who suffered from the tsunami.
At the moment there are more than 200 Finns and over 2000 Swedes missing and most likely all of them are dead. To see things in perspective: Finland has a population of 5.2 million, Sweden around 9 million. Everyone with basic math skills can calculate what that would mean if it had happened for tourists from US.
And desktops are (were?) made by Wistron which is part of Acer (or at least used to be). Wistron (then IMS) used to build IBM desktops at their plants in Tilburg, Netherlands, alongside with Acer's own brand desktops. The factory was later moved to Hungary.
Very nicely written and I think you put some of my thoughts in writing. I used to live in Nederland for three years (I am from Finland) and could see things from both point of views, immigrant and native (as I look like a Dutchman). The problem I had was that I never managed to learn Dutch properly as I worked at least 12 hours a day and most of my colleagues and friends were also non-Dutch.
I think you are wrong. The conractors will have money thrown at them to build the network without having to think about the competition as there is none.
Look at Sweden where the local government has built fiber to pretty much everywhere and they are renting it to ISPs very cheaply and it works. You can get a 10 megabit connection with less than 30 euros.
I guess they could be used to track the movement of your equipment.
Colinux runs Linux at native speeds under WinXP.
Wasn't it supposed to be the stuff that you can find inside packaging?

Mod parent up! I haven't seen too many Fawlty Towers quotes in Slashdot and the episode kicks ass!

Excerpt from one of the personals
"you must host i am looking to plese u all day as in licking and...."
Excatly! 680x0 series cpus were the best (Amiga/Mac) during late 80's, too bad they didn't beat the Intel cpus.
Would be nice except the questions get pretty old after only a couple of times of playing.

And free up some bandwith for the rest of the world :)
We have one time pads for our banks (at least my bank has them) and you have to verify your transactions with another code.
Don't have anything else to say.
Thanks for the warning!

Exactly, plays pretty much every format there is. At least I don't know any that it doesn't.
Don't be so one-sided in your criticism. Sometimes hate is a choice.
I just hope that Bush mellows down a bit, like Reagan did on his second term.
I just hope for all of the American people that Dubya doesn't do anything that will make rest of the world hate you even more.
This is a sad day.
One of the funniest and most interesting sites I know. Site has stories about the people working over there (Antarctica) and other stuff as well.

Hmmm... My Kaspersky Anti-virus Personal detects all kinds of spyware and crap out there. Spybot and Outpost firewall handle the rest of them.

Isn't this like the super-emulator that was announced while back? The one that supposedly could run any binary from Linux on Windows and vice versa?
I think the best option for Google would be buying Opera as it is by far the best browser there is and available for pretty much every platform.
