And if it was a Windows machine would the person who downloaded the file from Limewire go through the effort to check all the things you are suggesting they check?
I think not.
The person didn't want to pay for Word. Boo Fucking Hoo.
That's exactly the problem. STOP FUCKING LISTENING TO MUSIC THAT ISN'T FREE. Paying for music just gives them more money to support restrictions, lawsuits, and overly wealthy suckass artists.
When is/was music ever free? Unless I am walking down the street and I hear someone playing some music it's not free and ya know what - that guy usually has a hat or a guitar case out asking for my money.
Stop paying the RIAA. That I can understand. Go to a show. Buy a CD there from a local band - but guess what - many many many of these bands have long long contracts with the RIAA companies so until the bands stop signing them and the contracts run out it's the RIAA that is going to get the money. The band gets squat no matter how much is sol, how much the price goes up and no matter how much you feel it's okay to steak just because you don't like the business practices of someone else.
Let me guess - you are reading this on a pirated copy of Windows because you refuse to pay for that too?
Convert the file to mp3 and you can play it on any player. It was done before with CDs. How do you think all those mp3s end up on Kazzaa? If you want to move your music you are going to have to do some work. Sorry. Always been that way. Remember taping albums to listen to them in the new fangled walkman?
Apple might have come out with the first big hit with iTunes, but there are always other that come along, make what was the shiznitz look lame. It will happen, maybe not today or tomorrow, but it will.
Now Microsoft setting up camp with their DRM will be a doozie and might even kill online music sales. I am sure the RIAA is really really sad about that.
Why not a neutral file format that all can use and enjoy - not locked into anything?
Slashdot users complain even more about the DRM on the songs which they refuse to buy because to make them into any file type they want they have to work to do it.
Damned if they do. Damned if they don't me thinks..
I though the flaw was that it didn't play oog vorbis or flac files or whatever the new sooo much better than mp3 format is even though you are listening to it on headphones so it doesn't really fsking matter.
Why make things easy when it is just so much more fun to create something that the user has to read pages of configuration instructions then go to a support forum where they can get laughed at and degraded for asking such a simple n00b question?
Software isn't meant to be productive. It's meant to help people get a laugh at the expense of others.
If people don't want to go look for alternatives then that's their problem. They are there. Some suck less than others. If people are happy with crap, let them use crap. Most, no all of the programs that would be required are crap, work like crap and are bloat ware.
There are enough pages where if you want to watch/listen to something they show you the different media types they offer, and usually a link to where someone can download it.
It is the user responsibility to find what they want and use it.
Now - if you are saying that they should have the choice to get rid of any program that comes pre installed - that I am with you 100% on. Hell, I got rid of IE before I set up my preferences on my Mac.
on the street is when I have my headphones on. They don't care. I can be in a crowd of people and they still come to me - they guy with the headphones on to ask directions, for a cigarette, for money.
Don't these people know headphones mean Leave me alone!?
they tracked the most watched and most replayed commercials. So what's new?
Everybody tracks everyone. Everyone sells their information to someone else and still I have yet to see commercials for things that interest me.
Let the people waste their money buying up all that info. I will just replay the old man tripping the old lady over and over again, sit there and eat my Pringles.
Might the reason it's not being released for 10.2 is that it says in the Update that it is for versions of software running under 10.3?
Nah - that's to fricken simple, now isn't it?

Oh wait since it's the little guy - it's okay, just like if it's the PAL or the March of Dimes calling me during dinner
