I'll counter that good PM's who were coders have brought very little from their coding life into their current roles. I should know, as this describes me. Most PM work is management through and through, so PM's would do better to have aptitude towards business operations, and not coding. Great coders are usually just that, great coders.
The skills required, although not completely counter intuitive, aren't the same.
As for security experts, your point may have more wieght.
When are they going to figure out that we live in a global economy? I've from Canada, and I hope they tax the crap out of US internet purchases, so I can open a nice tax free store up here and sell the same products not only for cheaper ($CDN) but tax free.
That's some brilliant governance... how much will that add to the deficit?
If you use steam power to assist a gas powered engine by 50%, thereby reducing the amount of gas required to maintain the same levels of output by 50%, you reduce the emissions 50%.
Cable companies have the same set up as the telco's currently have with adsl.
They separate cable from internet as the telcos separate voice from data. What the telcos are asking for here is to end the seperation, and promote prioritization (and attach a prize).
The phone lines are getting clogged, but the coax cable is not (nor will it ever be in the forseeable future), so the cable companies don't really care.
We're not talking about servers here... for all MS's flaws, most of their server systems are pretty immune to needing a reboot anymore... espescially if they have more than a single processor - Even explorer can be restarted without problems.
On desktops though, the reboot (although not nearly as common - I'd never argue that) is still a cheap and easy way to go. Next time X starts acting up, you spend half an hour playing with it, and I'll spend 5 minutes rebooting the box and getting on with life.
1. Kyoto doesn't apply to non-industrialized nations, therfore their "economic development needs" are not affected.
2. It's already been pointed out that simple volcanic erruptions, localized to a single area can have a lasting effect on the world's climate. To suggest that effects of the world's sustained economic production do not (as is the Bush Administration's posistion) is simply ludicrous.
no, it would make the folk who live in the country and actually *voted* in favour (explicitly or implicitly) accessories.
Other countries are unable to stop the US. You wouldn't call an old lady who witnesses a fight an accessory because she didn't stop it would you? Same thing.

I think his point is that if all code is open, you wouldn't need such a tool.
You should let they company you interviewed with know exactly how effective their recruiting agency is.
At least it may help others avoid the same fate as you.

he means the actual "school" was called Ivy Tech.
It's called the "power" button...shuts up fox real nice!
You're going to use a bunch of tables for presentation as well, aren't you?
Well, the ones in Government at least...

You tell users to start using something "better" than outlook, and see how far you get.
but I'd like to get back to coding on at least a recreational basis.
Seriously, 15 years? Give us a break you pretentious goof. The guy/gal just wants to get a little fun out of coding, not become a hermit.
We're not all a bunch of losers without any friends.
That would defeat the purpose of ctrl+alt+delete.
Why should they help you as an artist?
The biggest problem with "artists" is their seemingly unlimit sense of some sort of entitlement.
You may want to try talking with your Network Admin... sounds like they're blocking cookies for you...
Of course it reduces emissions.

Where did you hear that?
1.5 Mbit cable internet connections only use about the same amount of space as a two television channels (one up and one down).
Each channel already has it's 6 mhz reserved space, they will never conflict.
You could torrent all night and watch all the HDTV you want without having any problems.

well, rebooting, or at least restarting the offending daemon/application (which is the same thing really) works pretty well on Linux too.
That's the most retarded comment ever.
Tell me more about your childhood traumas of being bullied by jocks, why don't you?
Have you ever considered that perhaps the beauty of sport is actually above your comprehension level, not below it?
That said ESPN is a pretty crappy channel.

I'm going to assume you're talking about pdf here. I'll also assure you that the format is indeed open
However, because of a recent wave of shoplifting, everyone buying a product will have to have their bags checked.
They already do this, and it's equally illegal.

Vaccines are for viruses, to fight bateria you would use an antibiotic.
