omg how is this redundant? it's a true story and COMPLETELY RELEVANT!
let me add another piece of anectodal evidence to the argument that accessories increase girls' enjoyment of games.
so a female friend at work asks me what game she should get. of course, i tell her the sims. she asks me what's so great about the sims.
me: you can control when they eat and pee! her: meh me: you can build their house! it's neat. her: meh me: you can have them make out with each other her: meh me: you can dress them up in different outfits her: HOLY MOTHER OF CRAP I MUST HAVE IT!!!
her wording was a little different, but that was the way it went down.
my girlfriend was COMPLETELY uninterested in playing world of warcraft until i told her that you could accessorize. she could be a cute elf with a really tasteful cloak and matching gloves!
then she was just uninterested. not COMPLETELY uninterested, but pretty uninterested.
you're (probably) not going to want to output XML directly from your database. with the XMLHttpRequest object, you're (probably) going to be requesting a specially formatted document from your webserver. so to create this document, instead of generating HTML tags in your PHP (or whatever), you generate XML.
you then read this XML with the javascript on your (normal HTML) page, and change its formatting/data appropriately.
when i read the summary i envisioned it as being like one of those toys you blow into to make that high-pitched humming noise. kind of like a cross between a whistle and a kazoo? those robot performance artist guys use them to make the robot noises.
instead of using the energy to make noise, use it to power the cell phone. would lead to funny conversations, as the parent noted:
"wtf, hello? are you doing the robot?" "no NOOB, i'm chargine my cell. WHAT A NOOB!" "stfu."
we've had a laserjet 4p for 10+ fkn years, still works great. says the manufacture date is oct 1993. we had a fkn 386 at the time (we were a little behind the times)
outlasted the 386, outlasted the pentium that replaced it, and when we replace the p2 it's on now one of these days, i have no doubt that it will keep on truckin'.
hardly ever jams, and when it does because mom loads envelopes into the paper carriage, they're a cinch to fix (great modular design)
best. printer. ever.
almost. it doesn't have a built-in network adapter
what's the point of typing out byte? isn't a capital B assumed to be byte whereas a lowercase b is assumed to be bit?
if you're going to write out Byte, you might as well write out Mega as well. but mixing and matching like this? i find the flagrant lack of consistency to be unsettling.

1: Battery life. All that heat has to come from an energy source, so unless you have jumper cables hooked to a huge
Cat Battery, the G5 oven will not last long.
Is that the thing where you butter a cat and it spins by itself?
my 256 mac mini works great! granted, i don't use most of the multimedia-heavy iLife apps. and i've only had it for a couple days so i don't have much installed on it.
my apologies for coming off as huffy. i was merely suggesting that, seeing as the author seems to err on the side of caution, he might be one of those some that you mention.
i was just using the author's metric. he didn't seem to include osx in his list of possible choices. also, it would be tricky for him to run it on a celeron. perhaps i should have said that it wouldn't count for him.
on a side note, when you [sic] someone, please make sure you're not the one making the mistake.
try one and see if you like it. a live cd won't expose you to the fun aspects of it, but i guess you know that.
after having used linux (debian mostly) for quite a while, i tried freebsd a while ago, and it was very nice to me. the ports collection reminded me a lot of apt, and the documentation was quite good. and they made a release today!
that being said, i haven't used it in some time. but with my new mac mini, i can relive my bsd glory days with additional drop shadows and window animations! i don't know if that really counts as a bsd, though.
in order to get something of the same size, you're going to have to go mini itx. the majority of the mobos in that form factor will be hovering at or below 1ghz.
if you want something that will perform similarly, you'd have to go for something like this. that's $175 for the motherboard alone, and you're stuck with intel "extreme" gfx and the p4m processor that you'll have to buy separately.
your best shot might be the pentium-m (not p4m) mini-itx combos. those are quite a bit more expensive though (i can't find it on froogle, but the company's site says 674 euros if you buy 100 of them).
with the via mini-itx solutions, you'll get good price/size. with the p-m you'll get good performance/size. as far as i can tell, the mini is the only one where you'll get price/performance/size, which is why i pounced on it right as jobs announced it.
there has to be a creative solution to the problem. it would probably involve either a really big explosive device, lasers, or a combination of the two.
for example, tunnel an atomic bomb under the volcano. strong ties to the mole men would be useful here, and therefore i suggest applying points to your diplomacy tree.
the detonation of the bomb would force the mass upwards. then your crack team of trained dolphins with fin-mounted lasers can cut up the falling mountain fragments.
you could use frickin' sharks, but dolphins are easier to both train and feed.

here is a link about it
is it "muster" or "mustard"?
nobody seems to know for sure
dude, it's in adblock!
you can block scripts as well as iframes for the page from the little adblock menu in the lower right.

i'm sending this to my m0m
well, not sending so much as printing it out and running it up to her (because i live in her basement)

...at dawn in the west and they will come to your aid. or something.
the preferred distro seem to have gone from redhat a couple years ago to debian more recently (although with gentoo in a close second).
maybe there should be a regular poll, a survey if you will, so we can graph changes over time. that would be hawt.
Is that the thing where you butter a cat and it spins by itself?
it's a very common mistake
i would have done that thing where each word is a link to a different site titled "hippa" having information about "hipaa", but i'm being lazy.

seeing as you've:
just in order to "experiment" with a bsd, then perhaps openbsd's somewhat anal devotion to security is for you.
openbsd: catering to the risk-averse for over 8 years!

HAWT! now i just need that copy of wing commander and i'm good to go!
but oh man playing dune 2 in a window with sound...i might not get any work done again EVAR.
