It's called sublimation. It's like melting-to-evaporation, but skipping the liquid stage. Just goes from a solid to a gas. What, did you think the freezer fairies were licking it up?
"Maybe Paramount will have the sense to put it on something other than UPN."
Well, since UPN stands for United Parmount Network, I wouldn't hold my breath.
Everyone keeps throwing around the term "morality" like we all agree on what it is. But what exactly is it? For me, I don't know... but I guess it's just one of those things that "I can't explain, but I know it when I see it" explanations seems to suffice. Now saying that, should we be dictating how others produce there art on such a premise? Well I guess we already judge art that way anyway, so what's one more indistinct distinction.
Well, since they are supposedly only a fraction of a cent to produce, I don't think we need to worry about them wearing out. I'm sure they will be disposable just to cover their ass - one time only. That way no one can use the argument that their test was tainted by a prior one.
The quality is very good in my opinion. I have Sirius through Dish tv and I'd have to say, I don't know what I ever did without it. It is so much better than "regular" radio, cannot even compare. No matter what mood I'm in, there is a station for me, and never do I have to worry about some inane commercials (outside of cross promotional bits concerning what's available on other stations which I don't mind). And another plus, it isn't censored. No bleeps/cut-outs in any of the songs. I get to hear the music as the artist intended, not "radio'ed" down. Also, another thing I like, is the "live/shared" feel, that spark that makes radio different than listening to an album... I'm not sure others agree, but something about hearing the dj talk about the music and whatnot between songs just adds to the experience you can't get from an album or a bunch of downloaded songs. I can get that from satellite radio without all the crap of regular radio. Now the only time I switch the station is to find a different type of music, not music period.
Obviously you are assuming these people actually read the article. I for one think that, from the bit here, Bethesda actually cares about the series and doesn't want to do a diserves to it. But then I'm not completely impartial as I think Morrowind is the best game ever made, so I already have high expectations for them.
This could be a good idea if you took it one step further and made the "PERMA-DEATH" possibile only for the initial attacker, rather than the one attacked. This would put the risk on the one who is making the decision in the first place and give them pause to ponder if it is really important enough to try to kill the other PC or not. This would definitely cut down on random killings especially if, as mentioned by the parent, no matter how desparate the level/power difference, there was still a possibility that the higher level/more powerful char could lose.
Well... The other chars around you will say more than two sentences before repeating. For myself, I've always enjoyed mmorpg's more for the occasional interaction with more than preprogramed npcs, not to work with them per se, but something to add to the in between times when I'm tired of the mill - socialization if you will. Personally I'd much rather solo when it comes to leveling; I enjoy having others around for variety, but too much is not my style. And grouping is usually too much for me. I just like having other real people around to fill out the world. Sometimes it's fun to chat with someone, maybe help them find their way to some obscure location, or swap advice. But then sitting there grinding with them, ehhhh... that's when I'm ready to head off on my own. Basically what I enjoy most about mmorpgs has everything to do with other people being around, but none of it involves grouping. This level of interaction just isn't available in a "normal" rpg.
I have this game and until I read this article I would never have guessed it had an inordinate amount of advertising. There are no ads per se except for in game product placements such as vending machines for butterfinger (which you can grind on in one level to register a gap - I thought this was actually a cool way to do it) and some other very nonintrusive elements. The biggest branding comes from the gear you can use and almost all of that is skateboarding related which is what you expect. But all of it is never forced on you; just extra stuff to play around with and deck your char out in.
Ohhh, I should mention before I am flamed that there are some "movies" you can watch which are basically commercials, but all of them you have to actually go into the movie section and click on them and are clearly labeled. I have no problem with this. Most are for skateboard companies but there are a couple others such as one for an upcomming movie about Metallica. Again, all this is just extra and never forced, and always something you have to search out rather than skip through.
Well, according to Rockstar, San Andreas, the upcomming GTA title, will need to be carefully optimized to fit on a dual layer and not all the content they want to put on will make it. One of the producers is quoted saying they hoped Sony would do something like this for the PS3 because if they didn't the next gen GTA would be even more limited then the upcomming one by the increase in overhead usually associated with next gen systems. So no, DVD's can not handle all the games. (Unless you believe that GTA titles are overbloated with useless crap, but unless they take a drastic turn, I don't see that as the case.)
I'm thinking that rather than requesting a funny mod, the poster was hoping to avoid being labeled insightful or such. Just my take, but I don't think it was meant as pandering.
I'm sure he didn't... to be hundreds of thousands (say 200,000) you'd have to read approx. 545 posts everyday. Now that is conceivable and probably done by some, but most likely the majority do not read that many, even here on/.
Actually we say American because it is too ackward to say anything else. How easily does United Statesian roll off the tongue, or USAian. Really, there isn't much choice.
I have to agree with the article. There are so many times out of the year that I am waiting for my next gaming fix to come along. I remember last year, when Knights Of The Old Republic (xbox) Came out... it looked good, and there was nothing else really new, so I bought it. And boy was I not dissapointed. But if it had come out around Christmas, I probably wouldn't have given it a second look as I was all hyped about buying Arx Fatalis for the xbox and SSX3 along with the new Tony Hawk. (On the other hand, I'm wishing that another game around the same time as KotOR had come out at the end of the year.. Pirates of the Caribean (xbox).. what a dog). I don't know how many times I've gone into a video game store, jonesing for something new, just to walk out feeling dissapointed. I know it doesn't make sense, but I am sure that a lot of the games I never gave a second look at around Christmas would have been welcomed purchaces most any other time. I know they are still the same game, but it just doesn't feel the same if they have been out awhile. (And yes, I know it is completely irrational, but I am sure I am not the only one affect with this "Shiny New Game" disorder.)
The reason it is flamebait is that none of it is true. The author is just trying to get a rise out of us by using cliched and inaccurate assertions. I believe there is no way that there will be child killing in this game. (For one reason, Sony has stated they would never approve of a game with it.) In fact, if I had to put money on it, I'd say, as in the past, there will be no children in the game at all. As for killing hookers... you can already do that. Just the same as every other person on the street. They are not singled out in the game, only in peoples negative impressions of the game.
I love it - modded troll here, but the exact same comment above modded insightful.
Yeah, it was called "Random Encounter".
