Think about this: most people in the US have NO idea how to be safe (driving).
80MPH in a 55MPH zone does not necessarily mean it is unsafe. However, doing it while 3 inches from the car in front of you is. Most people here don't realize a couple of things:
How can you stop if the car in front of you brakes quickly?
What If the vehicle in front of you has significantly better brakes (I drive a YZF-R6 (sportbike) and people ride my ass at 50mph, this bike can stop on a dime - if I ever had to brake hard, I would get run over)
If you follow two seconds or even more behind the vehicle in front of you, you increase your total trip time by almost nothing.
Hell, even driving 20mph over the speed limit (60mph), you must go at least 40 miles to save only 10 minutes.
I would think this does not eliminate ALL possibility that a catastrophic hurricane could do serious damage. However, why would this end the program in it's entirety - couldn't they move to say , Arizona? or would it just be too costly?
It's not the size of the chip, it's the motion of the FLOPS. This especially negates the Clock Speed myth, after all who want's someone that completes a cycle in 1/100000000 of a second?

Has anyone considered the possibility that he was not trying to DDOS anyone.
Perhaps he was being a good samaritan(sp?) and saw that they needed more business and sent a few customers there way. We was just trying to help them make money.
The Darl: - Which brings us at last to the moment of truth, wherein the fundamental flaw is ultimately expressed, and the anomaly revealed as both beginning, and end. There are two doors. The door to your right leads to the Unix, and the settlement of our lawsuit. The door to the left leads back to the Linux, and to the end of your cashflow. As you adequately put, the problem is choice. But we already know what you're going to do, don't we? Already I can see the chain reaction, the chemical precursors that signal the onset of emotion, designed specifically to overwhelm logic, and reason. An emotion that is already blinding you from the simple, and obvious truth: Linux is going to die, and there is nothing that you can do to stop it.
The Darl: - Humph./root, it is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and your greatest weakness.

it can be hacked, the copy protection removed. Now I can sell all of the NFL broadcasts after the game for $50 a piece and make a killing muhahahah. Yeah right.
Seriously, it's about time some reasonable (semi)decisions came down.
I use my own algorithm based on the tourbillon movement. This movement and the corresponding adjustments of the rotational speed of the movement, are translated into voltages. The voltages each correspond to a character (any voltages above or below a certain range - i.e. keyboard) are then plugged into a formula to bring them back within range. A character is then generated.
He was not stating that Windows is "harder" than unix to secure, merely that the "average" unix user will generally have a deeper understanding of how the underlying OS works as opposed to an "average" Windows user. Think about it.
The difference between Windows users and Unix (Linux) users, (and the reason Linux boxes tend to be more secure) is that Winodws users install drivers - Linux users write their own drivers. This was true at his company, at least. (he manages routers, etc at a fortune 500 securities trading company).
now we will have 'Hanging Screens' instead of hanging chads. Or should that be 'Hanging Clippies'.

Seriously, did anyone think that computers would be flawless? Even if under trials they were more reliable, there are still unforseen errors.
Example: I almost fried my digital camera. I have a motorcycle tank bag that attaches with VERY strong magnets - almost put my camera in it, but luckily I had just installed the 1GB CF card and thought hmmmm... magnets, memory, not good. Not to mention the firmware on the camera. But this certainly was not the first thing that came to mind when I bought the bag (specifically for the camera) - especially since it would have likely been ok with a normal one.
Spend at least $249 for the Ipod, a couple of hundred for a pocket PC, etc. thats over $400 bucks for an IR only Universal, plus the time of putting it together. Not to mention the clunky interface, when you could buy THIS
and controlly everything via RF + IR from anywhere in your house, plus a streamlined, easily programmable (from windows sorry) control interface (took me 10 minutes to set up DVD, Reciever, Cable BOX, and 3 TV's).
Did you read my post? The phone went back to the store after 8 days, how can a dealer make a call for me if I don't have the phone? Further, they specifically said they do not warrant service AT ALL. Next, wTF would the dealer do - travel to the areas where I didn't get service (yeah right). Further, If I should have to go to an 'inirect dealer' it would be nice if customer service would have told me that, instead of just trying to use scare tactics to make me continue with T-mobile. Finally, they did remove all of the charges except the termination fee and the first month or partial month of service. Read the post.
My complaint was with the poor customer service, and manner in which they acted. Screw the $300, that's insignificant.
Isnt this Old news, isn't it HERE is a story. I actually posted it yesterday in a comment I intended as a joke, unfortunately it got modded as flamebait
Why can't microsoft just write a GUI that runs on top of linux. Then they can still sell Windows on EITHER platform and tout the ability of Windows to run anywhere.
Windows now runs on the Linux operating system, for only $99 you can experience both the user friendliness of Windows and the customizability o f Linux.
Further, we now offer OfficeWL (windows linux), to make your integration easier than ever.
I'm not a programmer, so I don't know the intricacies of this. There may be a AntiTrust problem, but then again they are not creating an OS just a GUI.

Would this be due to slower rotation (relatively speaking) around the axis of the earth?

I just found them a couple of months ago, I located a Component Video Distribution Box for my HD sets.
so I can ensure several backups of my DNA
I think you can also buy repeater modules,to extend the range, as well. What's the name of that IR distribution system? sounds cool.
Nevertheless, I bought this system because I got tired of fumbling through 4 to 5 remotes, and wanted to be able to use it outside on my deck.
