The Military uses metric, at Georgia Tech (civil engineering) we used both (however, they emphasized metric), I believe most in the scientific community use metric. I think the problem is with trying to teach the general population.

The only Web site that I have problems browsing is microsoft.com. Well, that and MSNBC.com. So much relies on IE. Why are MS coders in such a manic rush to make themselves look so stupid? "Uh, we only know how to write code for IE." I can view multimedia content at every news site except MSNBC, which requires IE and related crap.
I use Mozilla most of the time, but some sites that I need only use IE (like banking, etc.),i.e.
I must use IE frequently, which really sucks.
Makes me wonder if M$ has deals with certain large companies to code for IE on purpose, for instance 10% off on XP purchases if your websites rely on IE, etc.
This is just a shot in the dark, but shouldn't there be a way to make semi-transparent money? IOW, money where items printed on the reverse side can be seen by a scanner from the front (since it can not physically tell what side of the money it is on), when the image is printed (even on the same type of paper) it would be relatively easy to tell which side of the paper the image is actually printed on and would make it very hard to scan each side as a separate image.
True, I have a 5 minute screen saver and make sure I never have a static image for longer that a half hour - not hard since I only use it for quick surfing or visualizations (no problems yet, keeping my fingers crossed)
Thanks for the input, I was looking into the bluetooth logitech, but will keep your advice in mind.
The microsoft keyboard and mouse actually have to be REINSTALLED (Or refound using a cumbersome process), reboot just doesn't cut it. What sux about this is that you have to break out your old standard keyboard and mouse to do this, which really eliminates the purpose of having a wireless rig in the first place.
BTW what videocard do you use with your tuner, I've heard about problems with the ATI Tuner and non ATI graphics boards (Im running am Nvidia)
I've got the 42" Panasonic (EDTV) 852x480, and this suits my computer needs just fine for the living room (some internet browsing and music playing with media player (only because it looks neat with the funky visualizations and the internet radio).
I also use it as 'Artwork', as the screensaver displays changing images
The 802.11g is great I typically get over 30mbps through 1 floor and a couple of walls (with WAP enabled, no Broadcast SSID of course!).
I can access the Office VPN (AES Encrypted)from the couch! Although I am still a little paranoid, so I have all of the shares PGP encrypted as well

I agree with you completely. However, IMHO, sometimes it's very helpful to get search results that are not exactly what you are looking for. Although I can't give a specific example right now, several times I have found new and helpful information by getting the WRONG search result. Nevertheless, it does help to weed out alot of the garbage most of the time.
