I don't know if you've noticed but Flash tends to crash Safari all the time. If it can now only crash a single tab instead of the whole browser due to separate processes for each tab then that would be great. I hope Apple follows suit with Safari.

I'm sick of seeing the signs on the gas pump "MAY contain UP TO 10% ethanol". Well does it or does it not and how much ethanol? 5%, 1%, 10%, 0%? Who the hell knows? If they told us exactly what was in the gas we can avoid the ethanol containing gas if our car doesn't like it. At least there are still some gas stations that don't have any sign so I assume they must be 0% ethanol.

  18. bspatch... on Apple and Microsoft Release Critical Patches · · Score: 1

I've never heard of Apple using something like bspatch. The combo update is so big because it will work on machines with 10.5.0 installed. It contains everything that has changed from that version to 10.5.7. The incremental updates take you from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 which is why they are smaller. If you look at the packages it's actually whole applications that are replaced not diffs to the binaries. Also all updates now contain universal binaries meaning they have x86 and PPC code in one binary file.

Where I work, we're rolling out this POS bug tracking system called HP Quality Center(HPQC) that installs about 20 ActiveX controls. It ONLY works in IE 6 or 7, not 8. It will work in the Firefox IE tab but that most likely relies on whatever IE you already have installed. I think it might be pretty funny in the next few weeks if this gets auto installed on a bunch of machines and breaks this crappy software.
