can we stop killing each other and focus on space exploration now? For all you corporate types: I am sure there are plenty of diamonds, gold, oil and other fantastic elements on these planets.
Are you kidding. I love listening to overweight guys breath heavily while playing one-handedly with their game controller with a completely out of focus shaky cam. 10/10!!
I have said it before and I'll say again: a keyboard and mouse is far superior to a simplistic gamepad in most types of games (platforming aside). I cannot even bother to pick up a game pad for an FPS as it is to sad an experience. This will never change.
This is something I have wondered about for quite some time. Apple's touch displays are coated with a polymer that contains nano-particles which are meant to prevent skin oils from sticking to the glass thus making them "finger print resistant". They call it an "oleophobic" coating. As many owners of these devices will be aware, the coating wears away after many months of use from constant touching, tapping and swiping. What I want to know is, when this film wears away where are these nano particles going? With the pressure of fingers being rubbed against these surfaces I would imagine that it goes directly into the skin. If so, I would then imagine that this would be a potential health hazard for the end users as well. I have yet to see any scientific analysis of this but perhaps I am talking crazy. Either way, I would like to hear some opinions from folks with more knowledge in this area.
And this is exactly (also WGA) why I am leaving the Windows platform. It has been a long ride with Bill Gates since W3.11 but I am done. I am leaving for greener pastures and never coming back.
I'm no Mac fanboy but I find it sad that we still don't have anything in the PC realm that comes near the sexiness of the Mac Mini. I sit beside my hulking full ATX case and stare at my wife's desk with envy.
If I download 100+ Nintendo DS or Sony PSP games, this does not equal 100 lost sales. The same applies to music, movies and anything else. Anyone who thinks otherwise is just smoking a wad of rolled up bills.
If these huge airships become common place you can bet that it will not be long until we have 'airvertising' similar to what we saw in Bladerunner? I imagine a huge airship with a Geisha commercial plastered on one side.
I didn't give them any money. They can take their DRM and go circle the drain....bye guys.
GTV on PS3?
on
I Want My GTV
·
· Score: 3, Insightful
So does this mean we'll be seeing GTV coming to PS3? No, of course not, SONY will want to sell us another set top box for extra $$$ and we'll want to work extra hard to pay for it too!
Well said and to that I add: I will never purchase another Activision published game again. I have better things to do than support money grubbing assholes. Fuck that.
Why trust what anyone says and then risk your health only to find out 10~20 years from now that it was in fact hazardous but after it is too late? Best to stray on the side of safety. You can always find another apartment....another body, not so much.
Not at all. I went from being a paying Microsoft customer that was treated like a criminal to a happy Mac user that doesn't even need to input a serial number much less have my system inspected by WGA. Voting with my wallet.
....but they have lost this customer. WGA was the final straw for me and what ultimately forced my hand. I have migrated to Mac and will never look back. Thanks for the helping hand Microsoft, I'm much happier now.
I have a genuine concern about the influx of all these consumer grade products which contain Nano materials (as we all should). I get the distinct impression that corporations are putting the benefits of these materials way ahead of the potential health risks (surprised?).
Just off the top of my head...Apple's iPhone has a coating comprised of nano materials, many skin creams and make up now contain nano particles, etc. Where are the real studies that show there are no risks in using these materials directly with your skin and body? How can there be any credible tests that show long term results?
The sad thing is that 99.9% of the people don't know or care about this. I fear that these materials will be the Asbestos of the 21st century that people of the future will look back on and shake their heads. Can any Slashdotters provide some good feedback or linkage on this matter? Appreciate any feedback.

I am wondering if there might be some way we can use lightning to launch spacecraft or other vehicles/matter into orbit?
Stupid skintubes...
Put the condom on after you got her knocked up...

Get it?
I thought, on first glance, that it said 'fapping' and didn't even bat an eye. Thank you Internet.
....getting anyone to want to buy one. Please let this 3D fad die already.

But then it becomes a Geisha selling viagra and penis enlargements.
....to bring one!

The key take away word here is "probably".
