Their page says, the IT-100 can be administered with minimal networking knowledge
Translation: People will believe they can Admin networks with this thing, the same way that they believed they could *create* database apps with M$ Access. Instead, they end up an incomplete pile of crap that has no more functionality than a collection of spreadsheets. (Just for the record, if you're required to use M$ only, Access can be used to develop good database apps, if you know databases.)
Yes, they'll have a network. Will it be efficient and secure? Probably not. Without the underlying knowledge of how a network is supposed to be run you're just asking for problems. Of course, then they'll just hire a real Network Admin and be forever greatful for being saved from themselves.
While the Athlon64 is a great chip I'd like to see a faster FSB, increase in clock speed and more chipsets available for this CPU. I'd say give it 6 months to year before you updgrade. Unless of course you're just dying to have one. In that case, have fun.
All these M$ patches are getting annoying, so I've applied the last fix for M$ problems that I'll ever need.
It's called LINUX. There's even a version of this patch works great on PPC.
What was best about Win98? Easy to pirate. I think, I've known more people with pirated copies of Win98/98SE than those with real copies. Another reason M$ is doing this. It makes no sense to provide support to pirated software.
Why it is no company likes to call its software version 10?
It's not DirectX 10, its DirectX Next
It's not OS 10, its OS X
It's not Redhat 10, its Fedora
Do companies think that people won't use anything labeled 10? Or, maybe they just assume the average consumer can't count the high.
Well, I'd like to see how DirectX 10 does.
I've put all my free software (Linux ISO's, Open Office and other free stuff) on Kazaa because it's quicker than setting up a FTP server. And, it's easier for people to search. It's too bad that more people don't utilize P2P in the same way. Yes, I download music, too.
I recently help my friend install YD on his G5. I went off an article in Linux Format mag, (issue 39 or 41, if you can get it). The partitioning and formatting was a little different than on an x86 but, after that it was very similar to Redhat. Not surprising considering that YD is based on Redhat. Good luck.
My only guess as how an old Duron or XP could beat a P4 is that the benchmarks that they ran were bias to those chips. Although I do beleive that you get more bank for your buck with AMD.
Interesting, sometimes after I've been playing for a few hours and I'd go out (yes, I can leave my house) I could still see the cross-hairs and HUD overlayed on the real world. Similarly, when after playing Red Alert 2, I'd see health bars floating about peoples' heads in public. Is there 12-step program for people like me?
Although the source is freely available, I have to agree will
Richard Stallman's assessment, that the APSL is not as open as the GPL. The point I think is the most important (in regards to this topic) is the "Possibility of revocation at any time". Which means that even if HFS+ is developed to perfection by the community, Apple can make it proprietary again and start charging fees?
I have a Mac friend who say his G5 is "faster than the Internet" becuase everytime he opens his browser he gets "a page not found messege" and has to hit the refresh button. I keep on telling him that its just a bug and his computer isn't faster than his broadband connection. But, he doesn't beleive me.

I have more real copies than I know what to do with
You can sent one of those copies my way and help me to break free of my addiction to pirated software.

Really? All I did in that game was teach my Creature to throw his feces at the villagers.
I thinks it on the site as "Brain". But, the link was broken.

I'm suprise you haven't been modded as troll or flamebait by some liberal moderator.
If you like Linus (or Linux) I suggest reading Just For Fun, if you haven't already.

A G5 with Linux Pre-Installed Finally, a Mac that I *might* consider buying.

Just don't allow cookies. (Yes, it seems too simple)

Ok, how about I make my new sig "Deraj DeZine is an asshole". Sound good to you?

As they say, "The Devil is in the details", which is why it's good that XFS is under the GNU General Public License.
Please let valve release Half-Life 2 soon. I'm dying here. A man can only play so much Counter-Strike.
What about the Skycar.
4 passengers, 380 mph and 28 mpg.
Only costs a Million Bucks.
Apple wouldn't be doing as well as they are now had it not been for a CPU transplant from IBM and an OS transfusion from FreeBSD.

Well, at the time it was true.
