Um. Jim Carrey doesn't really have much range. He just gets lucky once in a while and isn't such a moron in some of his movies.

He would never really work as Indiana Jones. "Ace Ventura and the Temple of Doom" just doesn't have much of a ring to it.

Ford is cool. Carrey is a dork. Two totally different types, for two totally different parts. A "comedy Indy" movie would just be vile.

It's like any other force of nature or technology. The more unrealistic it is, the more I would prefer them not try to explain it with stupid crap to further drive it home to me that what I'm seeing isn't possible.

I have many other serious gripes with Star Wars. RotJ, TPM, and AotC all did me in for even liking Star Wars at all.

Even if III is really that good, I probably won't enjoy it because it's still built on those other piles of crap.

I say that it has been confirmed, though I may be in error stating that now. It occured to me just now that the last time I saw it stated by a major gaming news site was actually many months ago.

While I have no reason to expect that Microsoft has changed that, I find it curious that I can't find the same links now.

Yes, because the absense of water cooling in the Gamecube meant the XBox was faster, too.

In all actuality, there is every indication to show that the Gamecube is for the most part every bit as powerful as the XBox, with the only real advantage the XBox has over the Gamecube is more memory, and arguably the hard drive (though since it's largely underutilized the fact that it isn't standard in the XBox 360 should speak for itself).

Anyway, when we start talking PowerPC instead of x86, the whole rules on heat and power as well as size totally change. It's entirely possible that the Revolution and Xbox could be more alike than unalike. Though with Revolution having Gamecube compatibility and the Xbox 360 not having much of anything, the XBox 360 could be more powerful and it would still have an uphill battle.

A large backlog of games to play can make or break a system. Anyone who doubts this needs to compare PSP and DS sales figures. (For those who haven't been watching, the DS is killing the PSP globally.)

By redesigning core APIs of an OS to support dual-core or dual processors then any software using that API may see an improvement when applicable.

As an example, I imagine it would be possible for future versions of DirectX to be heavily multithreaded and thus many games for Windows that use DirectX might gain some of those advantages.

In every series before, Zaphod came off as a bit stupid but only just stupid enough that we don't totally write him off. Sometimes we even caught ourselves wondering if his stupid was just some form of high genius at work.

In this movie. Zaphod is absolutely and without a doubt an idiot. It's hard to even LIKE the character in the movie, and most people I know who like the books rank Zaphod behind Marvin as their favorite characters.

To add insult to injury, not only is he poorly depicted in personailty throughout this movie, he doesn't even have two full heads! That Head-in-Neck deal was a great joke ruined!

The original miniseries on BBC lacked alot of things in the way of cinematography and special effects, not to mention costumes, sets, and lighting. Even some of the acting wasn't the greatest! But the charm was there, full force. The humor was maintained, and even enhanced!

It's those areas this new movie really screwed up.

Though I do admit Arthur was played well, I still didn't like how they reduced him down to a total coward. Lost and confused? Sure, Arthur was that. But a total coward?

Even though there are a lot of things I don't like about it, I do have to admit there are some good bits in this movie. Still, it can't help but feel it's far inferior to it's predecessors.

When you break our minds down into their basic functions, no single one of them is all that difficult to imagine emulating on sufficiently powerful hardware.

The question is weather or not the end result will be a truly thinking machine in the same way that we think.

heoretically when that time comes thoughts from a machine with the proper software running on the proper hardware will be indistinguishable from thoughts created in a human.

Still, proving that it's got a "mind" will be every bit as difficult as proving that human minds aren't just really complex biological computer programs.
