First off look at this guys website. Looks like a shady direct marketing scam doesnt it? Or maybe its all the "make money NOW" texts and "poker manager" things that make me think this one is probably a spammer. If you wanted to however, you could set up a rain or snow collection barrel. You dont actually pay for the water. You pay for the convience of having the water in a bottle or in your home tap. This is analogous to paying a flat rate for a connection/service. Does the water company care what i do with my water? nope. do they mandate i only drink it out of silver goblets? again no. Would i pay for near instant downloads of albums at a low flat rate monthly fee, with no restrictions on what i do with it? HELL YES. This kind of service does not exsist.
Personally im tired of downloading cammed videos and having the torrent take 5 days to complete, and die at 98%. Provide a service that offers superfast downloads and ill pay, same as for the utilities hookup for water. Ill even do one better and say it doesnt have to be flat rate at all. If it was like electricty where i payed per GB, that would also be fine. As long as its not near the price of current media and i can do whatever i wanted with the files, I have no problem with paying for better quality/service.
one last thing. Change copyright back to a resonable 15 years and make anything made before that (ie pre 1991) public domain. Then I will be happy.

one last thing you should consider. just because you personally, find it below you to work for 20 or 25k a year, doesnt mean that everyone would. if services like labour ready were outsourced, how would the crackheads of your community get their fix? answer, they would jack you as your comming out of your sweet ass office job. I learned how to manage markets and capitalize on price fluctuations purely by banksitting in UO. It taught me very valuable lessons in buying and selling, including what a scam looks like and how to tell when the seller/buyer is inexperienced. All these skills have transfered over to my life.
I also noticed that I could add numbers together better, as well as creating fractions to divide up commodities solely in my head. It also teaches about investments and the value of knowing the market you are in completely.

I use a program called netlimiter. works wonders for managing all connections out from the PC. Unfortunately, its not a firewall so you cant completely block apps from accessing the net. You can at least see whats trying to connect and throttle bandwidth by program.
Its also got graphs and shit which is nice to see where all my bandwidth is going over a month/year period. I just looked at their site and aparently the new version has advanced filtering and a firewall. I dont think id go for that as right now the version that i have is about 800k - 1mb and really has no annoying features. I generally load this program on any computer that i would be working on for more than a few days.

Well actually i do. I am currently paying $0 dollars + time to see content, like BSG. So i have set a price. Would i see a movie like firewall in the theater? no. would i pay 1$ to download it? also no. See, their are some things that i would download that i would _never_ pay for. Driving to a theater when my car is currently broken, will not physically happen for instance. The other big thing people dont understand about cost is that movies are already bought and paid for by the time i get to download them. If the media industries stop turning a profit, they are free to stop producing content. Its gotten to the level that amature content can keep the pace with studio content anyways. I dare the MPAA to stop paying people to make movies. Who in their right mind would think that would stop movies from being made?

seriously, the only thing i could think of is that if firefox ran out of ram and had to start using the pagefile, that would eat up tonnes of CPU. This would also effect other programs on the system. Are you sure you have enough ram in the machine? I assume you can replicate this bug on more than one machine right?
Ive had some sites crash firefox repeatidly but i cant think of any examples off hand.
