I've noticed that whilst maybe three years ago people would like to show off their latest PDA with all the latest features, now mobile phones appear to be the fashionable gadget that that people want to show off with all the latest wiz-bang features.
Another thought is that modern mobile phones have more akin with PDAs (albiet in a different format package) than they do with older generation phones and that the 'phone' feature was the killer applications.
Why is this particularly interesting? Should they should be using a digital portable music player made by Microsoft instead of Apple?
The iPod is the most popular digital music player. It's fairly like that if you take any subset of the population that the iPod will also be their most popular player.
So from one single query to the MSN search engine we're meant to draw some form of conclusion? Could it just be that the search engine has determined these domains to hold the best results and just returned these images?
Other searches don't appear to be similar. I'm guessing that perhaps these companies have paid for higher placement on the example used in the article?
Does anyone know if obtaining the SDK requires the agreement to an NDA or similar license agrement as some other SDKs do? It would be nice if the SDK does not preclude the writing of Free Software.
I mention this as I've had difficulties in the past developing software for platforms only documented inside a NDA 'protected' SDK.
I could be very much mistaken but I believe that they mean 'unviel' as in they actually now have an aircraft and that this is it's official press 'launch' with all the associated ceremony.
This is quite exciting for me, I once did some work on a project related to the A380 when it was still very much on the drawing board.

Has anyone got a link for a torrent of the article?;-)
Where does it mention the software being free? The article clearly states that it's license which is free and we can safely presume that in this context, (even on/.) it means free as in beer. Please drink your free coffee before posting.
"For a number of years I have been familiar with the observation that the health of people is a decreasing function of the density of cell phones they use. More recently I discovered why the use of the cell phone has such disastrous effects, and I became convinced that the cell phone statement should be abolished from all "higher level" cultures (i.e. everywhere). At that time I did not attach too much importance to this discovery; I now submit my considerations for publication because in very recent discussions in which the subject turned up, I have been urged to do so."
In Soviet Russia they simply can't recommend using Apache 2.0 with PHP for Korean old people until it include's Natalie Portman's digitally signed hot grits. Right I'll end the joke here.
The ise/ize debate is actually quite interesting. Ize, which everyone presumes to be an Americanization, is derived from the greek -izo and has a very strong argument for being the correct spelling. Ize is favoured by both the OED and Encyclopedia Britannica over ise.
That's really a pedant's argument: both spellings are acceptable in modern English when derived from the greek -izo. Some Americanizations such as analyze, use the same sound but critically they do not use not the same derivation and should correctly be spelled (at least in the UK) with an s.
Just because it's easy to swap numbers around in your sentence, doesn't mean it's so easy to make it happen in the real world. If you've got some revolutionary idea for making a 90 mpg car, by all means, get started on it.
My point wasn't merely to swap the numbers arbitrarily but to illustrate that 60mpg isn't revolutionary in terms of the fuel efficiency of consumer vehicles. There are other cars that already top this, the Citroen C2 can even reach just short of 80mpg. This site might be useful, it lists tens of cars that do greater than 60mpg.
Don't expect them in your laptop until projector minaturization catches up.
The display still requires a traditional projector to transmit the image through the display. I suppose that having two projectors attached to your glasses may induce a small amounts of neck strain.
The practicle? Is this the elementry particle that makes some of us experts at DIY whilst others struggle to tell the differrence between screw drivers and hammers?

WhereisPhatom.com should read WhereisPhantom.com, luckily it's correct in the link.
You must be new here.

Does anyone have a digitally signed copy of this article? How else can I trust this Tovald's guy with my computer?
Yes that's all well and good but is the device digitally signed?
Encyclopedia Britannica favoured ize before they became an American company.

How about a a 90 mpg car that can go 60 mph? Wouldn't that better progress?
Slashdotted already, that's not very usable if you ask me :-)

This doesn't beg the question, it raises the question. See here.
