The whole "drop prices to zero to kill your competition" thing has been going on for ages. I don't know the name of the man I'm thinking of, but he began with a simple ferry boat operation which he ran for a year or more for free back in the 1800s. Eventually, all of his competition folded and he was left to make a killing. He eventually became some US transportation tycoon.. I assume railroads.
All this article says is that somethings are better learned by actually doing them rather tahnreading about them.::GASP::!!!! Seriously.. who didn't know that?
Then do me a favor and escape. It's not that difficult, friend. Many nations speak English, almost all nations will exchange your American currency to whatever flavor of money they happen to use
A please, think before you post. If you even remotely think the US government is tyrannical, you are seriously mislead. According to dictionary.com:
An absolute ruler who governs without restrictions.
A ruler who exercises power in a harsh, cruel manner.
First.. the president has plenty of restrictions and two, the president is neither harsh nor cruel. Your mind may twist things to our advantae, but I assure you, you do not know cruelty.
I part of a research team studying wireless security for a large metropolitan police department and we've actually performed studies and real-world test of this same thing. As with most things wireless, perfectly easy to dupe most anyone. Just another reason I'm still wired at home.
OMG! They don't have an actual office! And this is worthy of the front page? I mean, seriously.. There are countless small companies out there who don't have an office. Or is it because they're in the Seattle area, the home of over-priced coffee and pastries. that this is considered so cool?
'Cause the Shuttle is old. It's only good for LEO and, to be quite honest, LEO is boring. We need better spacecraft to take us any further than our front porch. So I say let the Shuttle go the way of the dodo bird. Perhaps keep one or two around for emergency work, but certainly don't go upgrading the thing. Start afresh!
And if the tsunami had been smaller than expected? All you;d hear is "Look at those idiots at the earthquak/tsunami warning center! They cost the government of "country here" $XXX dollars for no reason! They shall burn ni hell!"
Yeah.. I meant to say 'monitor' and not 'TV.' Haha.. and apparently its called the Phantom. As I said, it was sweet.. but I was completely unimpressed by the rest of the show.
...and it sucked. I didn't see much of anything spectacular. The nVidia booth had a sweet TV displaying images in 3D without the need for any special glasses. I was impressed.
Other than that, it sucked. Microsoft and Intel had nothing spectacular. Motorola had some decent phones, but even those were just obvious next steps in the evolution of the market. All in all, I was disappointed. Good thing my employer paid for the tickets.
Here's a tip.. User education is more important than anything! I'm a fairly educated user and I haven't received a virus in years. I haven't seen porn spam in months. I haven't seen nasty popups or ads in a long time. I haven't been caught by phishers. I haven't clicked on any malformed news:// links. Education, education, education.. education is the key!
I think it goes like this.. We were promised that all these inventions (computer, nuclear energy, etc) would make our current tasks much, much easier which they have. I'm sure I can accomplish the same bookkeeping work in an hour that would have taken 6 hours in 1950.
The problem is that employers noticed this trend too, but they saw it differently. Instead of getting the same amount of work done in less time, they saw more work done in the same amount of time.
But I guess that was inevitable. Most people get paid hourly and not by the amount of work they accomplish. So I guess we, the employess, are to blame!
Communism isn't a form of government. It's an economic system. We feel that communism is bad because that type of system has always been headed by a dictator. In fact, it is possible to have a democracy and communism at the same time. Communism never killed anyone..
Because like it or not, there is still a certain amount of adverturer left in all of us. We send a man because we are men. Sending a robot does not grant the same level of satisfication and accomplishment. So I say send a man and let him return to Earth with great honor. (..and let that man be ME!)

If only I had mod points. Definitely +1: Funny.

.. not 10 minutes from my front door! Craziness!
I'm part of a federally-funded research team working on wireless security and internet forensics and we use AirMagnet to sniff packets.
That was quite entertaiing.. having a hard deciding if its for or against Linux.

I see no advertisements on the site.. at least no "bright, flashy" ones. And truth be told, I don't ever see Google's text ads either.
Mmmm.. I just wanna push those two huge buttons on the front.

Someone care to elaborate? This is well before my time.

Sands Convention Center.. Just down the road from CES. And yes, I live in Vegas.

It's about file size or byte count. That's it. Why there is such a hoopla over the number of lines I don't know.. It's an arbitray definition.

WHy not set the clocks to 23:59 and only wait on minute?
If ya do it right, there is material evidence.. Not the same as a guy, but there none the less..

So many better things to study.. why go to the moon? It's a dead rock.
