We've been blacklisted before and the sysadmins who run these things often WILL NOT remove you, no matter what. I'd take all the SPAM anyday vs. not being able to send legitimate emails.
I say we start selling wristbands (a la Livestrong and One) and then use the $126k and the wristband money to file absurd lawsuits against SCO intul they go out of business...
The ATA's should all be able to handle quite a few phones. A lot of people connect them to the phone wiring that runs throughout their house, there should be a grey De-marc (or whatever they're called) box somewhere outside your house. Feed a line from the ATA to one of the lines in this box (usually they have the capacity for 4 lines) and you home phones wil lbe live on your voip. There are also ATA's (the sipura 2's and 3's) that support two liens each...
The problem with with reading Engadget, Gizmodo, IDFuel, BoingBoing and Slashdot is that sometimes one story will just start on one and eventually be posted to all of them...
I think you mean, "he should have built a better web server out of them"
the OP made the mistake of turning the contraction should've into should of, and then you switched the wrong "of" to "have"
I used to go to Circuit city and raid the AOL CD stand because back then (~2 years ago) the CDs came in standard DVD style cases. Now whenever I need to give someone a CD, I just toss it in one of the DVD cases...
Sorry the for those of you hailing from Japan part was supposed to read:
(sarcasm) Wow, I guess we'd better boycott slashdot, they are SPAMMERS!!! (sarcasm)
yeah, yeah... I know, preview...
So you are saying that by
1) Having a website which contains posts about and links to technology / science related news
2) Selling advertising on said website
and
3) Writing stories good enough that they are linked to by other major sites
that you are a spammer? Wow, sounds like/. must be a spammer too. Let's see here... Slashdot sells ads, has articles about technology that they don't even write, the articles are usually just a paragraph with a few links and slashdot is pretty damn popular. Wow, I guess we'd better boycott slashdot, they are SPAMMERS!!!

It's all BS it's part of an extension to the Patriot Act that allows them to wiretap eskimos. They don't care about the glacier's, they are trying to spy on eskimoan extremists.
Soon enough they'll regulate the hell out of VoIP and similar to save the phone companies. Next thing you know AIM will be ruled a telephone company because of the "talk" feature.
I really think there is a large market for WISPs in 3rd world / developing countries. I really want to get involved and learn more about mesh networking, and deploying large scale wireless, etc. Can anyone recommend any good reading on the subject? (I've seen some recent/. articles, but not much else).
Fax the documents to something like an efax account. Most Universities have a heavy-duty fax machine lying around somewhere. Or you could just give it to the secretary and say hey, "The prof. asked me to give you these, fax them to this number." Then, in comes your fax already converted to an electrnoic format. Most of the free fax services only allow you to receive a few faxes per month, but you could always just sign-up for one of the better ones and then cancel.
419 Eater has been around for a while and is pretty well known for messing with these scammers. Take a look at some of the pictures scammers have sent them and listen to the audio recordings. Some of these scammers really need to brush up on their pop-culture.
Sorry I should have been more specific, it is celebrating the accomplishments of the EU as a whole under the Irish presidency (hence the location). That's not to say that the Irish administration is responsible for the expansion (nor are they trying to take credit for it), but rather the administration is using the presidency as a platform to welcome the new member states. My apologies again for not clarifying this in the original post.
I enjoy defeating the door switches on various household appliances. That is to say, getting the mto run with the door open. The dishwasher is my favorite so far, there's just something about a dishwasher with the door all the way open shooting scorching water everwhere... I am working my way up to the microwave, it is a lot more scary, but in the end, I think it will be more rewarding.

"Wouldn't it be great if one of these devices had WiMAX to upload directly to the internet?"
Yes, because my local electric car recharging station now has a WiMax hotspot...
In Soviet Russia case mods you!

Can I use this service to download music by lesser known artists like Brittany Beers and MandM?

What's the penalty for spamming in China, getting runover by a tank?

Akamai also hosts files (images, binaries) for many major websites. Seems like they have some pretty insane bandwidth too...
