i'm not mad that people pirate IP on it, i just don't like that they refer to it as their source for pirated materials. When you download something from a site, and someone asks you where you got it, you don't say "FTP" or "HTTP", you say the name of the site. when asked for a source of IP, people say BitTorrent, not Suprnova etc. This is wrongfully incriminating.
this kind of annoys me. The fact that people refer to BitTorrent as their means for software/music/movie piracy, when in fact Suprnova and other sites are at fault. You people are tarnishing the name of an otherwise brilliant protocall.
sorry for the rant, but my college just firewalled off the use of BT because of piracy, rendering the entire protocall useless for legit purposes. 1 million times better than FTP, and yet i have to wait for linux ISO downloads...tsktsk
Isn't/usr/src/linux just supposed to be a symlink to where ever you unpacked you source? that's how i've got it set up and grep -r 'Donald Becker'/usr/src/linux would certianly work.
someone should write a driver for those fancy shmancy umpteen button meese that when one of the extra ones is held held, slows down mouse movement...so with the press of a button and the roll of the wheel it can become jump-180 railgun-long range snipe...
I tend to see the possibility that people who buy 64-bit computers will try to take advantage of their capabilities by choosing 64-bit capable operating systems to run on them.
I kinda disagree. I'll bet a lot of people who are buying 64 bit systems are running vanilla windows XP, aren't really doing any heavy processing, except what's offloaded to their GeForce FX 42Bazillion and are thinking... "If it worked for nintendo..." or "wow 64 bits is bigger than 32, i'll be 1337 fur shur!!"
the tablet PC hasn't flopped...it is still used in industry and niche fields. This is exactly where a device like this is headed. It will drop off the public scope and exist only within it's niche of usefullness.
i am right handed, but i use a mouse for my right hand. Therefore, with a device like this, i wouldn't have to take my hand off the mouse. It's more efficient that way.
What linux really needs to succeed on the desktop is mainstream OEMs selling preconfigured machines. I'm not talking about walmart, i mean Dell, HP, hell even Emachines need to sell linux based computers, and i'm not counting servers. Then we will have truly taken off
theyve been running linux on xbox for a while, i mean IIRC it's x86 for gods sake. this is just a new way of doing it, that's all.
just checked...PSU does!

anyone who has witnessed the horror that is goatse man knows exactly what the sign is...
note- don't ever try to refer to goatse man in sign language, it's liable to offend others and get you arrested.
no...most badass sound hands down has to be the starter on a gas-powered chainsaw. I'd shit a brick.
i dunno...Atari worked with epic on UT2004, and there's a linux/mac port of that...

the official release said that ID was leaving multiplayer up to the MOD community. Lame i know, but it's an excuse.
hey i just had an idea from your post...
someone should write a driver for those fancy shmancy umpteen button meese that when one of the extra ones is held held, slows down mouse movement...so with the press of a button and the roll of the wheel it can become jump-180 railgun-long range snipe...
They used the term Class 1 LASER because Death Ray didn't sound so marketable
Why would you want it too?
Linux is a little boy...haven't you seen the IBM commercials?
I'm sorry if I have offended you. I didn't mean it, i was merely quoting Monty Python. I have changed my sig. Have a nice day!
rtfa. This isnt about reducing the size of windows, it's about marketing cheap windows to former pirates.
the tablet PC hasn't flopped...it is still used in industry and niche fields. This is exactly where a device like this is headed. It will drop off the public scope and exist only within it's niche of usefullness.
i'm running slackware on my 400mhz laptop, and i'm perfectly happy with it. But have you seen XP lately? BLOATBLOATBLOAT
true...but 1Ghz is enough for menial tasks like office and webbrowsing...
i do however think these things should run something like palmos, a tailored linux distro, or winCE to keep the memory/horsepower footprint down.
i am right handed, but i use a mouse for my right hand. Therefore, with a device like this, i wouldn't have to take my hand off the mouse. It's more efficient that way.
aol, yes. but AOL!=AIM
aim is a rather good protocol, i use it regularly...with the gaim client. alternative clients rule.
three words
"lynx for windows"

Sure sounds better than Gringe...
maybe it should not automatically stop the download, and give the user some choice...i mean how stupid can they be?
...right...nevermind
