i disagree. I think with the added features, maps, and gametypes, as well as including the ut2003 content, UT2004 is what UT2003 should have been. it's like they took UT2003 and finished it.
it wouldnt be hard to do to fry a hard drive...the payload of a virus isn't the hard part, and isn't specific to windows. Propegation is the real issue here.
windows is not a generic term for operating system. "window" is a generic term for "GUI box with stuff in it". therefore, windows is plural of that, and thus, a generic term.
there is an rpm for fixing the MP3 thing which i can't be bothered to point out to you. Google it. The X.org server is a fork of xfree86 with a different liscense...no real difference yet
if it is packet-sizing, i suppose it would only have to be on the transmitting end...so you'd basically double your upstream...and if the AP or router has it implemented for ITS upstream, then you get your full speed boost.
man...if i had a system with that much power under the hood, i'd call it from the rooftops...it's simply amazing, and i wonder why it's such a big secret that we have to speculate...
1.5 G for an os is an incredible amount...hell windows 98 only required 200M, vector linux can be installed with GUI in under 100M. i've seen GUI linuxes fit on 1.44M floppies!
many of us are still stuck on 2.4 thanks to driver issues etc. That's why it's news. My laptop runs 2.6 like a pro, but the intel 536EP winmodem drivers won't let me run it on my main system

damn right. I think the way to think about music is by album. A good album should send a message, it should be a statement, not one radio hit and 45 minutes of filler. I exclusively buy albums on cd and vinyl, and i listen to them streight through. Listening to a good album is like watching a really good movie; even after you've heard it a hundred times, you still can't wait for what happens next.
damn right. Bonzi Buddy, Weatherbug, and all their evil little brethren keep me in a job!
"paradigm". good buzz word. talk like that and you could be a PHB some day!

i think the joke is that you can get netbeans for free, for any linux platform. look around suns website

slight nitpick...windows 3.1 had no native TCP/IP stack...therefore everyone used the cute little hack known as trumpet winsock.

that's not a bug...it's a feature!!!
i definately agree... America's army is so well done, five years ago i never thought a game with so much realism would be so much fun.
and heck...even without planning...counterstrike aint bad.

If you don't mind lots of integration, NForce2 is a GREAT AMD chipset

that's a feature, you insensitive clod!
yea, but a working implementation is a long way from a concept paper...
rpn is really just an organizational thing to avoid parentheses. therefore
(a + b) * (c + d)
becomes
ab+cd+*
i do believe this is the nerdyest conversation i've ever seen...even for slashdot.
good show!
i think i heard of an early rock-based disk prototype. i think it was called the "rosetta stone"...strange stuff
i just about wrote this same thing. good first post!
i think what he's trying to say is that even though the binary is small, it still requires much memory to be used...don't be so defensive!

it would probably be more cost efficient if you could get a deal on laptops without displays...just a thought

A borderline relevant monty python quote is ALWAYS on topic!
