Scroll down and look at the other stories that master of editoral disaster, Zonk, has posted over night.
Sorry, I no longer view articles from Zonk on the homepage. Now I get the stories worthy of being read, plus no dupes! Although my homepage is about 4 stories long, it gives me a chance to peruze the different categories.
I'm sure they don't run windows, so it's probably more complex than that. I'm guessing it's not a typical, off the shelf, flash drive, but specialized so that, as is, only the car can read it.
From TFA "Piracy has the very real potential of tipping movies into becoming an unprofitable industry"
Maybe this would be a good thing. Perhaps they could use the open source software model. Much open source software is free, and therefore, non profitable, yet tends to produce better, less buggy software. Maybe if the entertainment industry was the same way, hollywood would start making quality films as the only ones wanting to create movies would be those passionate about making a good film.
He couldn't find space for an Mac mini? It's only 6.5 inches wide and 2 inches tall.
Exactly, he makes room for what looks like a 19 inch LCD TV, but can't allow an extra 2 inches of height beneath it for the computer??? Doesn't make much sense to me, but what do I know?
Or you could use Thunderbird! You could move or remove the 'Reply To All' button so that you can't accidentally click it when just replying. Any yahoo or "Illiterate Journalist" should be able to figure out that trick, or they should be shot.
If I recall correctly, I think Morpheus went on about how the human nervous system produced enough electricity to power a light bulb
If that's the case, I would install an electrical outlet on my chest and evertime I needed to use a small appliance I wouldn't have to search for a wall outlet. Could perhaps be used for charging my mp3 player(shit, that charges from USB) or my laptop.
The only reason they brought anything up is to make money off of the trademarking royalties. They have the word tiger trademarked and want their do for it. It doesn't matter if they are a competitor or even in the same field as they are, it's about the universal lubricant.
The problem I have with this whole fiasco is that Tiger-Direct actually got a trademark for the word tiger. I would think that because of prior art, or because it is such a common word, that it would have been denied. Tiger-Direct on the otherhand is unique, and my hats off to them for getting that trademarked, but there has to be some better limits here to what can and can't be trademarked.
Douglas Adams has said that the movie isn't supposed to be like the plays or the book. It was written to be it's own entity. So when things from the book and things from the play were not included, it's not because he didn't want them to be, it's because they were never meant to be. He wanted to give us something a bit different.
The problem I see in this is that if there is a suicide feature, some evil game developer would *accidentally* make the feature so it delivers a fatal electric shock. I know I would if I were that evil developer. Does that make me a bad person?
I made a rough calculation through the US Postal Service. Via Parcel Post, the cheapest way to ship a package, it will cost about $450. The only problem being that they don't accept packages over 70 pounds. This being said, it will probably have to be shipped through FedEx, UPS, or some other service like that and will cost much more.
Such as Futurama. It seems strange, but I think we need the high speed individual transport tubes that go throught the city and will spit you out anywhere you want. Anyone else for this????
"It will be easier for us when we go to enslave the human race!"

Electronic babelfish anyone?
I didn't say it would be perfect. And rome wasn't built in a day, was it?

Just my two cents though.
VHS?? What is this mysterious device you speak of. I just use my trusty DVD recorder and an RW disc.

So? This is Slashdot...

People still have programs left over from Windows 1.0? Hell, I don't even have anything left over from 95. Damn Packrats!
No kidding. This is quite easily the worst story I have ever seen on Slashdot. No wonder this guy posted anonymously!

Otherwise, this sounds like a game for me!
Let's hope so!!!
Very nice. 10 minutes at 35kb/s is much better than an hour through the official website.
The best ending to any show. It can be applied to anything. Except it would work better when it's not done by Patrick Duffy and Victoria Principal.
How well does /. show up in lynx?
I don't expect an answer, I'm just trying to seem smart, that's right *seem* smart....
But I ran the test and it said it was probably legitimate??? If they can't even tell, then why should I care if I pay for it or not?
When will it be 802.11G capable? Once that comes out count me in!

Slashdotted in a whole 3 minutes!!!
