I'm wondering if I should bother upgrading to a *.1 release. I'm running slack 10.0 with 2.6.8 kernel, and I already upgraded kde to 3.3.2 (s10.0 came with 3.2). Is the benefit worth the effort of an upgrade, or should I wait for slackware 11 with some really big updates? I love slackware and want to support the project, but I just got my slack box just how I like it, and am reluctant to bork the whole thing.
The choice and configuration of linux distro is a very personal one. I don't think I am comfortable with trusting some dell tech to install slackware or gentoo for me. If linux is all about choice, then I want to be the one to make those choices.
Perhaps a better option would be to buy an OSless laptop, which would save me the trouble of deleting Winblows, and maybe even reduce the cost since there is no M$ license to pay for.
I don't know about that, as long as you can rent a VHS at Blockbuster for 99 cents while the same movie in DVD format costs 4 bucks, wheter it's a new release or not!
"One day, we'll be able to do something else than driving our cars through traffic jams, saving us about two hours per working day."
If this is true I wonder if it will give greedy employers an excuse make me work more hours in the day. With the most business friendly administration since the gilded age, I can see them arguing that "our changing world" makes current labor protection laws "quaint." And like labor unions, and the geneva convention they have to go if we are going to dominate- er compete on the world stage.
Maybe you do spend too much time in front of the computer. I usually complain about my goggles not protecting my eyes when I'm drowning in acid, not my search engine.
Pish Posh! What's science ever done for me anyway? Like I have time for this, I need to get back to my web surfing and remember to take my antibiotics, as I'm recovering from surgery in my air conditioned home. Science is for geeks anyway.
This would allow me to access my gmail account on my zaurus which supports POP, and does not have great firefox support yet. It does have Konqueror and Opera working quite well but Gmail does not allow Konqueror or Opera browsers to get mail. All in all I would call POP for Gmail a good thing.
I keep all of my music (1400 tracks) on my computer and play them with juk. I don't bother to play them on the stereo at all. I have a powered subwoofer and four speakers on my pc which can put out far better sound then my small aiwa 3 disc changer, with two non powered speakers.
What about people with dynamic IPs? Are they going to call my isp and demand to see their MAC tables? That's a lot of backchecking.

If they will come with outfitted fleshlights so humans can "interact" with them.
Slackware with slapt-get or swaret for dependency checking, which slackware's pkgtool does not do.

I'm too busy gaming to post an intelligent comment.
Come on! It's the 24th century. And you call your self a nerd. For shame.
the machines rage against YOU!
welcome our new open source overlords.
Don't stay on the ground too long or a worm will get you!

Well now I guess I'll have to go back to making my counterfeit 20's on my kid's magna-doodle.
It's a CHESSBOARD!
Yeah It's pretty cool. Would I want one, sure. But is this news worthy of 180 (181 now that I've joined the fray) nerds chattering about it?
I think I missed a step between automatic cars, and self-employed. Could you fill me in please?

Maybe so but 'Redundant' is not fair. 'Stupid,' 'Thickheaded,' or 'Condecending' woud have been more accurate.
God damned trigger happy moderators! I had better get meta-moderated.
I can't read the article without my glasses, is there anything in it about watching tv? Is TV any more or less damaging that watching a CRT monitor?

The url for Google is google.com
The url for MSN Search is beta.search.msn.com
That's way too many letters to type for most people.
Finally a place where I can get my H legally.

They want to replace him with Zell Miller. We can now look forward to the day when all matters legal will be settled with duel at sunrise.
