I'm in the same boat. I love Playstation, hate Xbox (mostly because I love Playstation), and recently gave away my GameCube because I just don't want more than one console in my living room.
I don't care about the rootkits, because I don't buy music, I download it, so no worries there. Besides, most music that has come out lately sucks anyways.
This survey sucks too, because I love Nirvana, hate Eminem, but apparently I bought the wrong console.:)
Whatever in the future, I hope that all games/consoles will allow me to play my own MP3's as background music. Gran Turismo was known for some good music, but the latest GT4 music is mediocre at best. Oh well...
And I noticed a real slow-down of my internet a few months ago, and have just been putting up with it... now I'm wondering if i'm on some 'list' and that's why my internet seems slower, that i'm being wat...

You could also try programming in some other fingers? If they are having trouble reading your print to get in, they should also be having trouble reading your print to program the scanner. Does it retry more than twice when programming / reading your print the first time? Try another finger that doesn't retry as often when programming the scanner...
Am I alone in the belief that my Playstation 2 is still awesome? I just bought a large HDTV, and got the component cables for the PS2, and games like Gran Turismo 4 or God of War look absolutely STUNNING? Why do I need to spend another 300, 400, 500 bucks when there are still dozens of great games for the PS2 that I haven't even played yet?
I will always miss Harry Goz, Captain Murphy from Sealab 2021. The shows (WITH captain Murph) were almost all hilarious, very much less so when he passed away.
I don't get 12 Oz. Mouse, Squidbillies is a bit too 'stupid' for me, and ATHF is hit-or-miss, usually miss.
But I can watch Futurama, Family Guy, Venture Bros, Sealab, Harvey Birdman, and Space Ghost over and over again, and still enjoy them. And probably will for years to come.
I remember being quite the particular pain in the butt at REALMSMud. And I particularly enjoyed being sent to 'prisons' (rooms with no exits, etc) because I liked the challenge of getting myself out of said rooms. (Using familiars to fetch me items to help me free myself, asking for gates, basically trying to show off to the Wizards/Gods that I was smarter than them.) (didn't always work).
Penalizing me by taking away a level, or inventory, or temporary banning of the game (1 day, can't log on) was a better preventative measure.
I will take that one step further. I am a video game addict, but I cannot for the life of remember the last time I bought a video game magazine of ANY sort.
You can get the cheats online.
You can get the walkthroughs online.
You can get the reviews online (from other users, not editors/writers who are in the game publisher's pocket-- try amazon.com, epinions.com?)
And if that isn't enough, go to best buy / target / walmart and try playing the game in the store, if you can find a playable demo.
That is the reason I stick with playstation (I recently gave up on Nintendo, but I will probably buy the Revolution when the next Metroid comes out for it).
I am in fatuated with Gran Turismo. I've been playing it for what, 6 years now? So when I need to play Gran Turismo 5, and I need to buy a PS3 to do it, I will.
And what exactly are you doing by buying an Xbox? Oh, that's right, Microsoft is the 'happiest place on earth' and doesn't do anything evil...
For the most part, big corporations are evil. You can't get that big, and stay that big, without doing something wrong once in a while.
So, I pick my evil. And that evil is Sony. They were here before Microsoft, and they were my first gaming system I owned. So I'll stick with them.
And, I just don't like Microsoft as a gaming console. They have enough already with basically running 90% of the PC's out there (mine included). They don't deserve to get my living room too.
Next day and called to confirm the order, and lo and behold, it doesn't come with a battery, that's another $80. Oh, and you want the battery CHARGER too? That's about $75. So now his 'deal' is just as expensive as anywhere else for the Rebel XT.
So--
I went to Circuit City, to the actual store, made them price match their online price ($899) and walked out of the store with camera, lens, battery, etc, in hand.
Dunno if this will help at all, but most new cars today have 3 or 4 cigarette-lighter adapters. I never charge my phone in a house/office anymore, I only charge it in my car during my commutes, and it never runs out of juice. I imagine you could do this with a few things (GBA, palm?)
My blackberry, I charge that off my USB port off my laptop. So no power cord for that. It helps a little knowing I can use any USB port to charge up.
As for everything else, good luck. I still have a mess of cables on my floor, and not planning on doing anything about it.
Even better way to fix this problem... if the user of Google Earth is in China, then call it "Taiwan, Province of China", which will presumably make the chinese happy.
If the user of Google Earth is in Taiwan, then call it "Taiwan" or whatever will make them happy.
Even when I'm the last civilization on earth (apart from a couple puny guys on islands), it seems to take FOREVER for all my workers to complete their works, etc.
You must play poorly. On low difficulty levels, I usually skyrocket ahead of other civs. (Try TRADING once in a while, that's what the computer does!).
On higher difficulty levels, I usually can't get ahead of other civ's until much later in the game, once I'm industrialized.
I've gotten used to all the new fandangled controllers, but I think the main reason I can't get my non-techy wife and computer-illiterate friends to play video games with me is they are scared of the controllers with a dozen buttons on them.
Even if they only have to use the controller stick and two buttons, it's too difficult for most of them.
(course now I have the steering wheel and gas/brake pedal for my favorite game (GT4) and I let my non-tech friends use that... they have no excuse... if you can drive a car, you can use the controls)
Every man, woman, and child in the US, or any country for that matter, should love their country, especially if it's a democratic republic like ours is. (I'll be a little more sympathetic to people living in dictatorships, I can see why they shouldn't love their country).
But you are being shortsighted -- if everyone was 'forced' into some sort of basic training, to learn some skills, think of the results:
1) Fewer low-class, unemployed, unemployable, skill-less people. (Training is good for that)
2) Less gang warfare/crime - 18 to 20 year olds are renowned for getting in trouble. Take away those two years to teach some discipline, some respect (for yourself and others) and some of societies problem would go away, or at least be lessened.
3) Do you think 9/11 would have happened if every person on those planes had some basic military/combat training? Doubtful.
Everyone (EVERYONE) who turns 18 goes into this "Mandatory Civil Service". You get trained to be a soldier, or a medic, or computers, engineer, something useful for the government/military. You stay in for a year or two. Then, from 19-20 years old until you're, oh I don't know, 25 or 30, you are obligated for an amount of time to go into service, much like the reserves. Say 4 weekends per year, 2 weeks per year. Adjust these number accordingly (age range, days served).
It would make our society a little 'tighter' and make people appreciate their freedoms a bit more.
(Try looking at Israel's culture/society, they use the aforementioned plan).
Gran Turismo 4 is light years beyond the original Gran Turismo. If I was a late adopter, I would be WOW'd (BIGTIME) in moving from a PS1 (Gran Turismo 1) to PS2 (Gran Turismo 4).
I imagine the same thing will happen, in time, with the new generation.
Because we are video game addicts, we (I assume the poster is like me, in being somewhat addicted to getting my favorite latest games) are constantly upgrading, and getting the latest release, etc. GT1 - GT2 - nice difference. GT2- GT2, really nice difference. GT3-GT4, somewhat nice difference (read: difference==improvement).
But the GT1 - GT4 hop is unbelievable.
Now use the above analogy with any of your favorite games. Final Fantasy VII vs. Final Fantasy X-2? Huge.
Grand Theft Auto 1 vs. Vice City/San Andreas? Unbelievably huge difference.
In 2 or 3 years when the best of the best come out for the next gen consoles, it will blow the pants off whatever came out in the early months of the current generation consoles, IMHO.
It's not really random text, they are well thought out posts. I'm not sure if he/she is copying them from another article, but some of them are actually funny, if you read them all in a row.

Better one was when Jonathan Frakes moves to the front...

This happened to me at WISETRONICS.COM.
Wanted the kit, camera with the body.

Just to be a jerk, what "letter" do you leave out with won't?
wo not? wo nit?
Guess for that word it's more of a 'lose a couple letters, and change a few others to something completely different'
And for that matter, is there any reason why we don't say "willn't" instead of "won't"?
(I'm too lazy to google for it).
Wow, I just lost an hour easy, only 10% through.
I'd say 50% of his stuff is funny, the other 50% is so-so...
But 10% of the funny 50% is WICKED FUCKING FUNNY.
