    The war of drugs may be a failure, but how many thousands of people are being imprisoned every year for nothing more than marijuana possession? Just because the war fails doesn't mean that tons of people who've never hurt anyone won't have their lives destroyed by it.

    I don't get it, why would 10 represent three types? We're counting, not listing array indices or memory addresses.

    The program only pretends to use computer algorithms. In reality, it emails the submitted document to the Indiana University speed-reader champion trained to recognize fake submissions. The prof skims it, and emails back the response.

    Some possibilities of where choices come from:

    1. Genetics
    2. Environment
    3. Random quantum events (is that redundant?)
    4. A combination of some or all of the above.
    5. Ability to choose granted by God.

    Not very promising for the concept of "Free Will" as far as I'm concerned.... But the important thing is that we have the illusion of Free Will. As long as no one can simulate your mind, it may as well be real.

    Personally I think the Tony Hawk's games may be inappropriate for young kids for completely different reasons. How about trying to imitate some of those stunts? We all know that the "GTA leads to murder sprees" argument is bull, but unlike teenagers, 6 year olds may really not be able to figure out the implicit "don't try this at home" message.

    Yup, because we all know that if someone threatens your family, the correct response is to kill their family, even if they are innocent.

    I was under the impression that according to the letter of the law, just receiving kiddy porn is illegal, even if you never wanted it in the first place. So all they have to do is prove you've received it, then your hope rests on the sanity of the jury.

    DDO is just fine to pick up once a week, easy to use, quick to group, and the dungeons are a good hour or two and you can be done for the night.

    So you'll be playing the game 1-2 hours a week? I'm sure there are online games that'll let you do that without monthly fees. I heard Guildwars was pretty good.

    Yes it's the same planet, and the name is Solaria. I actually only re-read the books 3 years ago and I still had to look it up in wikipedia.... The only reason I remembered it's the same planet is because Gladia, whom Bailey met in The Naked Sun, survived the trip to Solaria in Robots and Empire because she spoke with the right accent.

    Actually those very flaws were discussed in a few of Asimov's novels. In The Naked Sun a murderer tricked robots into doing his dirty work, and in Robots and Empire a planet programmed their robots to only recognize people who spoke with the local planetary accent as human.
