One of the best parts about class for me is actually speaking my mind and not being afraid to do it. This would just make people more shy if you ask me. Not a very good way to prepare kids for the real world! There won't be clickers at the office.
DUDE, I've been thinking of the same thing, only with such satellite radio services like XM and Sirius. It would help getting a signal when you're around tall buildings etc.
So are they saying that the release started on a BitTorrent site? Wow. Too bad that's not how it works, at ALL. And I thought the MPAA at least knew how their movies get pirated.
I predict that, unfortunately, this service will be cancelled within the next two months because of legal threats. Very cool service. Hopefully it can stay around.
I remember getting a 486 when I was about 4 years old. The whole mobo died about a year after we bought it, and I remember my dad replacing every part in the PC. I had no clue what he was doing, and now my dad doesn't have a clue about computers:P but I remember it was the coolest thing ever, seeing how all of the stuff inside of that computer worked together. I was also pretty lucky that we first got internet service when I was 5 years old, back in 1993. My parents weren't very strict about the computer (back then, there weren't as many threats to children on the Internet as there are now). So basically I just learned by experimenting with everything. That's what I do to this day.
I'm not surprised one bit. G4 is finally realizing that they messed up. Nobody is watching because they've completely done a Hitler move and fired off all of the good TechTV people. All that's left is good-looking, young hosts who don't know jack about what they are talking about. It's quite sad how fast they turned one of the best networks into the worst.
Not to sound like a troll, but in what ways is this different than the technologies already out there (like EvDO)?

Wow, I'm glad that Mozilla keeps their BitTorrent page updated with the latest builds :/
I wonder why they are only serving 1.01 on there?

The source is a VHS, and there is a huge timer on the top of the screen. Go see it at the theater.
No, if you are using GPL'd code and selling it for profit, it is against the GPL. Selling support is one thing, selling software is another.
In short, yes. It very well could be. I know that Skype is MUCH higher quality than even my landline phone. VoIP has a lot of potential.
Yeah, a LOT of shit is watermarked already.
But it's easy enough to remove those watermarks.. and IMO if the MPAA cared about it enough, they wouldn't make it so easy.
So they're going to start monitoring Google and can see what people search for? I really hope I just read that wrong.
is to start using secured, SIGNED encryption for every site. That way, you'll know if you are really on the site you think you're on.
But that would mean that methangel is a girl.
:P
There are no girls on teh intarweb!
Two buttons? Don't you think that's a bit much, Mr. Jobs? :P
How do you use Windows Update then?

No shit? This goes on whenever any kind of disaster happens. How is this news, and even more importantly, how is this Slashdot news?
If the device runs on Linux, I'm sure there will be a way to add your own applications to it.

Heh.. I wonder if we can Slashdot that site.
I'm sure MS won't include support for the nice open-source codec XviD.
I love listening to it in the car, but I didn't wanna buy one of those XM boomboxes. I will definately get this!
Where was this when Janet's nip-slip happened? :P
How is that any different than a cell phone network covering a whole city?
