    There are a couple of weak links to this solution, but nice design none the less.

    The connecting joints and hoses will be subject to flex failure.
    No doubt they will use appropriate materials to counter repetative wear.

    Also, as with most space equipment, they will most likely make a redundant system.

    No doubt there is a lot of bandwidth to Google, regardless won't this slow down the Internet to some extent due in most part to its popularity?

    Google is making some really bad moves.
    It's like watching Blind Date and the guy is just saying the wrong things.
    AOL?!? Now ad clutter?

    Frankly, Google is *not* that great of a search engine.
    There is so much more needing to be improved in search technology.
    Guess, I'll have to show them how it's done. :->

    More, the amount of Google reporting is getting a little overboard.
    Worse, they are turning into a corporate greedy black hole, devouring companies like M$.

    Sure glad I did not pursue employment with Google.

    The chanllenge for IT boils down to how well they can hussle management into taking their concerns seriously enough. Most often while playing second fiddle to ignorance and ego.

    ...stopped reading when it was saying Symantec, McAfee and Microsoft were better than Lavasoft.

    Every machine I have serviced which had either Symantec, McAfee or Microsoft products, had an infection.
    Worse the machines would crawl even with a fresh install of said products.

    The review is giving those products big stars?
    What a joke!

    Any product that causes your machine to crawl after installation IS a Virus imho.

    Here is the recipe:
    Install one product to act as sentinel in resident memory, either Webroot Spysweeper or Lavasoft's Adaware.
    Install both Spybot Search and Destroy and Spyware Blaster.

    Interesting that Spyware Blaster, http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.htm l, was not even mentioned on /.
    It is a worthy product because it inoculates to prevent those users who insist on installing crap like Gator, err...Claria or Comet Cursor.

    The single most important role of spyware should be to do its job with minimal footprint on your resources.
    The review clearly ignores this.

    Here are a couple no one has mentioned yet.
    "rz" and "sz"
    It's the shell equiv to receive and send via zmodem.
    Works great when moving files from a terminal emulator like kermit.

    "dd" is great for disk clone and backup.
    "cat" is my quick output judo chop
    "tar -xvzf" for dealing with sources

    "cut" gotta say I've replaced a lot of sed and awk code with this simple string manipulator.

    "vi" I want a vi T-shirt, how nerdy is that?

    "w" gotta know whos on first, whats on...

    "wget" is sweet for downloading

    "lf -la" to search for hidden files. Anyone seen ".. "? {notice the space.)

    "bc" for calcs

    "tee" for splitting processes

    "man" Since I can't fit anymore on the subject line, I'll finish with this one I'm sure everyone has used.

    If you could master everything on the following man page, give yourself a pat on the back...you are one powerful tech.

    Seriously though, I'd be interested in hearing what qualifications you have, the details of how you were approached, and what pay differences were talking about.

    Otherwise, you might as well be asking a technical question without posting the necessary details about your hardware and software.

    Unless of course some drastic positive changes come to space exploration in the near future.

    My question is, why are we not pouring all these billions into gravity research?

    The best detection and prevention I have found to date is simply watching tcpdump and taking action manually.

    If you find watching lines of packet information less than thrilling, you could try out something like the Cube of Potential Doom.
