You do realize that Doom 3 is limited to 4 players only in the Doom "mod" itself, right? It can be changed to however many players to mod creator likes (within the limits of the engine). As for Half-Life 2, Valve announced they will be releasing mod tools before the game was released.

Sounds like someone has never heard of commercial liscensing. Most companies have some sort of liscensing agreements either from themselves (Like Blizzard) or through third party entities. The owners subscribe to these and can use the software ina commercial enviroment.

Not a fan of the G4TV as well. Arena I think burns my ass the most. LAN parties are enough of a social nightmare to go to in the first place, but when these people are put on TV and shown to play games while bantering back and forth about "ownage", it's a case to make for complete FCC dominance of the cable networks.

One more thing that irked me a bit. On an E3 preview show, the hosts were talking about Knights of the Old Republic 2. But instead of saying, "Knights of the Old Republic 2" they would sound out the acronym. So every time it left their mouths it came out as "coat-oar two."

There is much more I can tell you about his trip that I "made up", like how he was stuck sleeping in the airport for a few days because of passport and monetary issues. It was also a program designed for people that don't speak Chinese. The idea was to teach kids who already knew a bulk of english how to use pronunciation.

Anyway, he kept in touch with me and other people through the use of internet cafes, so we talked fairly often. Then a few days went by where he wasn't logging on. It turns out government monitors had flagged his usage because he had been visitng a lot of American web sites. He told me he woke up one moring with AK-47's pointed at his face and was taken to a local precinct.

A rep from the agency he was working for had explained the sitation to the police, but from there on he was forced to fill out paperwork outlining his planned usage activities on the terminals.

But if it's steady (thank you, vertical sync) I can play fine and afford to turn up the eye candy.

As for IQ, it would be considerably hard to do, but that's not to say it hasn't been done. It's widely accepted that on the current generation, ATi's FSAA is superior to nVidias across the board. In AF, ATi doesn't apply the settings to 45 degree angles, so nVidia's is superior. And then you factor in drivers. For instance, the 52.16 detonators (now Forceware) do not render some lighting properly in Halo (among others), so it could be said that their IQ is inferior in many apps.
