I guess he'll introduce an Apple Insulin pump now. But it will only take proprietary, Apple-approved GRM (Genetic Rights Management) insulin, which you can buy for 99 cents per injection, or pay $9.99 for an entire day's worth.
Actually, SCSI is hot-swappable if you're careful. First, unmount the drive. Second, remove power from the drive. Third, disconnect the SCSI connection to the drive.
I have an iPaq 3650 running Familiar 0.7.2. I use Opie as the UI. I've installed a PDF reader, an internet browser/HTML reader and the OPIE ebook reader. I read e-texts from Project Gutenberg with the text reader all the time. The joypad on the iPaq is a godsend for this kind of activity. I read ebooks on it when it ran WinCE, but not as much. Any ebook reader should, in my opinion, have a joypad.
For $600, you could get a Zarus.
Thumb keyboard, color touchscreen, CF and SD slots, WiFi, 400Mhz XScale and 64Mb RAM. Sure beats the hell out of a Jackito.
"Be careful. If the ID is injected I am sure a kidnapper would have no qualms about removing it with a knife."
Hell, if I was chipped, I'd have no qualms about removing it with a knife.
And is the chip de-activated when the kid turns 18?
Besides, this seems like those employment chips or whatever in Futurama .
That's great. But as far as earth-orbit human spaceflight, our record isn't that good. Yes, we went to the moon, but we did not establish anything permanent. Instead, Nixon decided to waste money on the shuttle when he should have extended Apollo.
Once again, when NASA gets cold feet and shows how incompitent they are when it comes to Human Spaceflight, the Russians save the day. Astronauts are going up there on Russian rockets and repair the station in Russian suits. Jeez. Why can't we do something right for once?
"Truly, it's the missing 2% that we should really be worried about. I'm guessing there's a noticeable lack of CEOs, politicians, and others who can buy, wheedle or threaten their way out of the database."
Not to mention those in the Witness Protection Program, Police/FBI informants, etc.
As I remember, one of the contestants for the DARPA challenge was/is a motorcycle/dirt bike with a dual Athalon-64 driving it.
All this guy needs now is Kismet and a wireless card.
" The article said two projects. The other one is probably MS-Bob."
No, it's probably that Hound from WinHEC that you see whenever you search for files in Windows.
And the weirdest thing happened when I started to read this item the first time: my XP machine BSOD'd.
If MS sue'd this brazilian guy and succeeded wouldn't that create legal ground for RedHat (or some other linux company) to sue MS over the cancer statement?
Not unless a Brazilian Linux company filed the charges.
But if RedHat, SuSE or some other Linux company had an office in Brazil, could they sue?

"We are stunned that RealNetworks has adopted the tactics and ethics of a hacker to break into the iPod."
Oh, as if you're company wasn't started by somebody who used the "tactitcs and ethics of a hacker" to build the Apple I.

So, do we award Comrade Anonymous Coward the Order of the Red Daemon or the Hero of the Open-Source Movement medal?

"I, for one, welcome our nouvelle overlord of freedom."
It's nouveau, not nouvelle because the word for software ("logicel") is masculine in French.
"I always thought Axe was for metrosexuals."
I always thought Axe was for making flamethrowers.
But that's only avadable to Linspire/Lindows users.
If launched in significant quantities at the right altitude, would a flock of CDs register on radar?

A $299 diffrence.
Personally, I'm waiting for Rendevous for WinCE and Palm. I know that the Java version is probably for PDAs, but a native client would be nice.

Seeing Microsoft make a better product in response to competition? Priceless.

I really haven't heard of bus-powered portable drives in this capacity before.
But that's just me.
Well, I live in Dallas, crime capitol of the country.
